I am completly new at growing weed. I have been to a few websites and read up about it a little bit. But what I have read hasnt been able to answer my questions. I have a few below. Any feedback would be extremmely appreciated! 1. Is a 36" Flourescent reptile 5.0 UVB Light any good for using as a light? What should I buy if not? 2. Is a 3 X 1.5 X 1.7 Foot tub good for potting the plants? 3. If the plants are growing in a small closet... Will they still grow? or will they die becasue they arnt getting much oxygen? 4. How close should the seeds be planted apart? 5. How much weed can you get off of 1 plant that is aprox. 1.5 feet tall? Please let me know if you have any answers. Thank you in advance.
Hey Zarlum, welcome to GC. I'm pretty new but I can answer some of your questions. #1 If your using floro's , gotta have cool white and warm white to get proper light spectrum, so if your light can hold two tubes, then it will work. #2 It's better to plant in individual containers. #3 Plants breathe CO2 and exhale O2. Fresh air is a must, and a fan is good to keep air moving over leaves and help plants breath. They will grow. #4 Better 1 seed per pot so you dont have to stress seedling by transplanting early. A strong root system is very important for the big buds. #5 Really a lot of variables in this one, strain,light,ferts, soil, timing./ Check out the FAQ/Forums on this one. So hope that helps. Alrite, So.. I will planty in seperate pots. How big should each pot be? How big can the plant get in this pot? Will i have to move the plants into a bigger pot later on?
The bigger the pot the better. Figure 1 gallon of soil per foot of plant. Some go directly into the large pot and some do transplants. Either way works well.
heh, remember the post about the guy who grew a plant for 8 months outside in a 3 gallon bucket and the thing was like, 7 feet tall and looked like a goddamn christmas tree (no joke, just like one, except.. not ).
if you go large pots watch your watering,to start just get the top inch or so wet.closet will work with flores,mines stuffy no problem! it would do better with venting though.
Very good answers! But don't forget that oscillating fan...it's a must have fer closetgrowerz.... Cannabis require both c02 and oxygen to stay healthy;they transpire by day(breathin co2) and respire by nite(breathin 02)....
