We just returned from a trip to Disneyworld and Universal in Orlando, we could go on and on about the rides but one of the most interesting and unexpected surprizes was at epcot in the Land pavillion. There was interesting boat ride that focused on new methods of producing food for a growing world population. It focused on new growing advances that included farming in Egypt and Africa in SAND with plants that thrived on salt water, Aquaponics, and multiple Hydroponics methods of growing and producing foods. We were very impressed and really had no idea this type of research was going on at a Disney park. We are sure some of you guys have seen it also, if so, what were your impressions ? On a side note, or fair warning, it may be in your best not to indulge in a Turkey leg before tackling the coasters at Universal Studios. The Tron now have much respect for them DAMMM !!!!!!! For prides sake, we must say We were not afraid....hhmm....but are confident that we left permanent impressions on some of the hand rails.
I see you have also experienced the coolest ride at epcot http://forum.growkind.com/showpost.php?p=328951&postcount=15 When I got on and saw what it was I smiled from ear to ear
I remember seeing that about 10 yrs ago, or so. And yeah, they've got a pretty amazing garden and fish farm. All of their food is produced using 'the most effective/efficient' methods and still cost your soul and left testicle to eat at the park. I particularly remember their slow-mo plant progress cameras which, as I remember, was to observe how slightly different methods produced profoundly different results at an accelerated frame view. I was impressed with their scientific research facilities and would like to see more. I envision a large under-ground facility in the old X files fashion.... Next, Disney's gonna be working on stem cell and genetic engineering research to raise real children to replace the aging "Small World" robot kids. Apparently kidnapping isn't as efficient as it used to be...
Wouldn't that be the ultimate twist? Disney with underground labs at its parks collecting dna from children and cloning Stepford Kids to expand its empire.
