I have two plants in their 5th week of flowering. Last week the bottom leaves became increasingly yellow and the 2nd level was starting to change color so I flushed both plants 4 days ago and I watered yesterday. The yellow started from the veins and not the tips. (I read a thread which was similar to my situation and most advice was to flush so I did that.) Yesterday I noticed that the top levels are starting to turn yellow. I started using Maxibloom 3 weeks ago 2x per week (diluted 100%). (In the veg state I diluted the 20-20-20 fertilizer the same way.)
I didn't put the nutrients in after I flushed. (Today I was told I should have done this.) I didn't know that. I assumed the roots needed a little time to recuperate. The yellowing was increasing and I assumed I over-fertilized. The leaves that have started to yellow will not recover? Is that crucial? IMG_1237zz.jpg

    N deficiency

Looks and sounds like an nitrogen def.. The good news its a normal part of flowering. That plant looks righteous! I wmight reintoduce nutes, but she looks pretty close to being ready. There might be enough nutes in the soil. Drop nutes for at least a week fore you pick her. You will only make that mistake once though as its worth avoiding smoking plant fertz. very harsh!

Watch the trichromes, when they finally turn cloudy your running out of time:)

    you're fine

My plants looked like thjat week 4 of flower..(not saying that's o.k)

your plants are fine, trust me.

why are you watering 2 x a weeek minimum? I assume you are letting your pots dry out and they must be in a very small pot? You seem to have done your homework, but JFTR the general rule of thumb is to feed nutes every OTHER watering.:potleaf-3:

They look alright for 5 weeks unless this is some 11+ week sativa or something.

They do have a sativaish look to them with all those fans in the cola. Also, the green leaves which are not yellowing yet are a lighter green and not that deeper green type of color.

Do you know what is it you're growing?

About what % of the pistols have gone from white to orange/red?

    Have u checked the trics?

I don't have any trichomes and none of the pistils have turned brown/red so I figure I have a ways to go before harvest. They are indica G13 white widow and pure gold from attitude. They are a little stunted because of the short lighting period in vegetative stage (14-15 hrs). They are in large pots (3 gallons?).

I fertilize 2x week (diluted) and water 2x week. This is my first grow. The thread I read said that this type of situation was probably over-fertilization so I flushed. I didn't consider a nitrogen deficiency.

Your yellowing isn't at all uncommon for 5 weeks on an indica dom. (Nice little plant there BTW) It looks to me like you have some more bulking up to do on those buds with 3 maybe 4 weeks to go. Hit it with the Maxxibloom and add unsulphured molasses (1 tbs per gallon) to your feeding regimen. It may not green up again but will push nutes to the bud sites. The molasses will aid in uptake of remnant N in the soil without putting you back to a high N fert.

Just reread your last post......you water plain h2o 2x a week and fert 2x a week which makes 4x per week that you are watering? In 3 gallon pots with plants that size that is too much. Get it down to a solid drenching until run-off appears 2 maybe 3 times per week. If you are drenching 4x per week the initial issue may have been overwatering since it started with the lower leaves.

    Good luck cheers,
