I picked up some Brown Earth sterile soilless medium. added a little mushroom compost, composted cow manure, blood meal, bone meal, liquid kelp, fish emulsion, and threw in about 12 worms per cubic foot. That has to be the blackest soil i've ever seen. after i mixed everything in i found flies buzzing around the soil an hour later. Am i missing anything? besides a marijuana plant?

Sounds good but i don't know what ratios you used. One thing i have found with mushroom compost is it's notorously infested with fungas gnats. I always heated mine to over 300 * for 1 hour in the oven before using to kill any nasties

    I know I know....

The blood meal is attracting them.

I suggest adding some alfalfa meal and letting it set fior a few days before planting a plant.
