Can I use any type of Epsom salt, or should I go for the "epso grow", I had the one labeled for plants, but Im all out & Im noticing a magnesium deficency in one of the girls, so can I just use the one for body soaking that I got at the grocery store? :xxhippielove:
epsom salts is magnesium sulfate. 2 teaspoons per gallon with watering and there should be NO magnesium deficiency i sometimes throw a pinch with foilar feedings. how is your PH?
I think foliar feeding created the problem, After misting the plants with pure water I noticed yellowing of the bottom leaves, which was a N def, then On the flowering plant I noticed rust coloured spots on the top leaves, so either a magnesium def or a boron def. Im not sure about the ph, I use Dolomite & purified water to controll the ph levels, but I just kinda put my faith in that and never check it.
with dolomite and purified water, you should be okay PH wise....I'd go with that too. I am a BIG user of foilar apps, and have no idea how that would have led to nute deficiency. I would first look at lockout, but in your case, that sounds unlikely.
Yes, you can use the cheap stuff from the grocery store (That's what I do). But the most important thing to know is your PH. Make sure that is right before adding anything. Just my opinion.....
