Thanks again, man. I could not have done this without you. I can't stress that enough. For whatever reason, I feel I was lucky to have you take all the time you did to tutor me through this procedure, even when it did not seem I'd ever be able to. I have no idea how you did not lose patience with me and say "fuck this. you're on your own.". Hah Hah. Man I feel a lot of gratitude that you shared so much knowledge with me.


Other business: I have another breed. I don't know what it is exactly. It looks to be a hybrid, but definitely more sativa features than the MAster Kush. It's a clone from an Alaska grower. I'll never know what breed it actually is, but I've wanted an Alaskan clone since I moved up here. Perhaps it is one of the breeds they grow here in the Matauska Valley. I traded the guy a Master Kush clone for an already-rooted clone of his.


I have no knowledge of the plant. But very soon I'll be taking cuttings to clone it. I finally have a second strain. I do not want to lose it to stupid cloning mistakes.

 

good luck scotty just follow the same plan and you shouldnt have any trouble with the other strain.

The primary strains that grow here are Matanuska Tundra/Alaskan Thunderfuck/Matanuska Thunderfuck...all variations on the same breed. In the central Alaskan valley north of Anchorage they grow a lot of variations of Northern Lights and AK-47. I'm looking forward to seeing how she turns out.

 

I have a suggestion for this thread. If It's not already can the mods make this a sticky? I took my first clones today and reading this answered about all the questions I had thought of. Hopefully I did it right, but this was the best thread I've found here so far regarding cloning.

 

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to Scotty and t6, very informative thread. The clones I took are 2 days old, humididome not aero cloner, and only 2 have drooped a little. Y'all made it very easy.

Another update. All 6 rooted and look like they're gonna make it. 100% success on the first try!! Ony problem is three are males oh well, might make my own seeds. Thanks again for this thread.

 

Hey bro congratulations! :thumbsup: I've got 8 cuttings right now of Super Haze. Right now it looks like I'll root 5 at best. It's been months and months since I last took cuttings and I took a couple of small ones. I don't think they're gonna make it. But that's always been one of my biggest cloning mistakes. I think I'll be 100% on my next run. I'm still using the same contraption you saw me put together. I'm not changing a thing.

Hey I'm glad y'all made this thread and that I stumbled across it. I was terrified of cloning but y'all made it pretty simple for me. 3 are male and 3 are female. Not sure what to do with the males yet. I may try collecting pollen so I can get some seeds if need be, not really sure yet. Thanks again.

 

You don't need seeds if you know how to clone.

 

Absolutely. Having to start over from seed was difficult. I had not had to do it for over a year and it's been a hassle. I learned some serious lessons about the value of cloning. If I'd stayed on top of things my entire grow operation would not have crashed. :5eek:

Ya that's right. The only thing is I don't have anything made up yet to keep a mom in, and I just want to see if I can pollinate a plant myself really. Been eyballin an old entertainment center in the back room though, I could make a pretty decent cab out of it I think.

 

I made a nice little clone cab out of partical board and 2x4. It's like 2 1/2x 3x 4'. Plenty of room for a 2' T5, 4" exhaust fan in the ceiling.


With a cab that small I keep 2 strains going; 3 was a pain in the ass.

 

This is what I've been eyballin. I could make different compartments for different stages, and the spot on the left has adjustable shelving. Some doors, fans, lights, and paint I think it could be bad ass

I was looking around the house and found a sheet of plywood that will be just enough for doors. Also came up with some hinges (I kinda hoard building material). Now to plan out what I want to use each section for. Thanks for the push Scotty, got me Rollin on it.
