cloning

I am about to get ready to clone my babies. I dont really care to buy a humidity dome or peat pellets. I'd rather just cut them and try to root them straight into soil. I have plenty of time to tend them, IE spraying or what not. I am also willing to take a loss, like 50% of the clones. I'll just get twice what I need. I plan to put the cuttings under 4 2 foot floruos. Do you guys think this will work? Any tips and tricks to increase my chances of success? Any help and suggestion are welcome.

Yes, yes, yes. I successfully cloned using your method. The only thing I did differently was, as opposed to the plexi glass, I used saran wrap and poked one little hole on the top, and secured it with a rubber band.

I'm glad it worked for you Athena. My first attempts at cloning were a bust...big time. I tried all the gadgets, aero-cloner, rockwool, peat disks, all with very limited succes. Finally just started stickin' 'em in the dirt. Been happy ever sense..

 

Hic I'd love to see the first garden link ya got there. It's currently in progress or inaccesible for some reason.


You get 90 success with dirt? awesome, so what are your tricks for success?

Hello!


For me it was easy as pie. I cut the clone, dipped it in hormone rooting powder, purchased from Home Depot, I have the Olivias cloning gel, but it so messy, I went with the one Hic has in his link. I covered the clone with saran wrap, poked couple of small holes in the saran wrap, secured it a rubber band and that was it! 100% success so far.

 

..No tricks Max. Just like it shows, though I do feel having the healthiest possible donor, well saturated, is as crucial as about anything.
