DIY Laser Lighter

    I haven't tried this project yet, but it seems like it would be great for butane-free pipe smoking. Not sure how long the batteries last. There's other burning laser hacks under related videos.

    Does anyone know if the diode and driver from a laser pointer would work for burning?

    I would have to try for my self, but I can't imagine the power from those two little battery cells is going to be enough to generate enough energy for ignition. Cool idea, but I've played with some lasers, and it requires quite the power source to begin cutting with light.
