Well - enough of the dumb newbie questions - today was time to get my hands in the dirt - MAN was that FUN!!!!!!!!!!better than that 2 second wait on a downline for the snap roll (some of you will get it)Anyway - here is what it looks like:coool: /monthly_2013_04/IMG_1979.jpg.828c511f341ff807dcfe1f2984473190.jpg /monthly_2013_04/IMG_1980.jpg.672e39399e2a542fe5875f139d004307.jpg /monthly_2013_04/IMG_1981.jpg.ec53210f77596c7c6e042af980b17849.jpg /monthly_2013_04/IMG_1982.jpg.1a2929e13385786feead48985e451a10.jpg
to the frustrating and rewarding hobby you'll ever have. Those smart pots dry out fast. Make sure you stay on top of watering. Good luck. I'll be watching the show! opcorn-2:
to the club DXE :-welcome-: Nice and clean looking setup ya got there Just wanted to add, that the pots will dry out much faster once the roots are established. Right now you have tiny plants in big pots, so at this point I'd be more worried about over watering them. When you stick your finger in the soil, ya want to feel moist, but still slightly grainy texture. Muddy feeling soil is over watered. But once the plants get bigger, I agree with Jr, the smart pots dry out much faster than plastic pots.
No prob and thanks for the advice. I am watching closely and have a good gauge as I know what they felt like BEFORE I watered first time.Looks like all survived transplant - after 24 hours all look happy. /monthly_2013_04/57a6caa4b2af2_ScreenShot2013-04-14at5.35.31PM.jpg.77d1a2d7ddcc82bd88e8e252c618f680.jpg
Ok all - just checking in - been a busy week. The kids had their first full drink and are looking pretty nice - 5 days after transplant in veg. With a two tent setup - how far in advance should I start planning/cutting/etc for my next grow? The veg tent will be empty in 3-4 weeks i hope..... /monthly_2013_04/IMG_2014.jpg.23dd781aff731b7add2bdd4df7f1fad6.jpg
Me thinks you have a bit more than 3-4 weeks to go. The clones will be ready to take cuts from for a Mom or two in another couple of weeks. The ones from seed will most likely begin to show their sex in another 3 weeks or so. It's good to plan ahead but let's not rush things. Slow and steady, steady & slow that's the way we go Duc
Nice first setup Start planning/learning/prepping yesterday. You can cut at almost any age but it's best to wait until they're at least 2 months old from seed. I see some wilt and discoloration that need to be addressed. What are you working with, seedlings and clones? opcorn-2:
Think. At 4-6 wks. you'd have something to get a few clones from (if you want to rape the plant). Just do the math :FAQ:
4 JB ko Kush clones and 4 Purple Power from seed from AMS. Hope to bring 6 to the flower tent - depending on the sex of the PP
Thought I would give you all a quick update....Moved the ladies out from under the t5 array to a 600W MH. I felt they were not growing enough under the T5. From the first 24 hours under the MH I would say my hunch is right. This is 2.5 weeks after transplant into 1 gallon pots /monthly_2013_04/IMG_2090.jpg.ffb103741904f36e72b83faf5e0393b4.jpg
Those bigger ones should be able to give up some cuttings in about 2-3 weeks. After you take some cuttings you should give them about 7-10 days at least to recouperate and that will help to branch them out a little more and give you some more bud sites. They look nice and healthy. The little ones have quite a ways to go.
I have two 5x6x8 tents. One for flowering and the other for veg, etc.I made some changes to my veg tent. Originally I had a t5 array in there and it just was not enough. I modified the space by adding a table at 30 inch height with the T5 underneath (for mom's) and replaced the main light with a 600W MHAt the moment, my Vegging ladies are in the flower tent under 600W MH 24x7. The Veg tent is occupied with my wife's spring garden - lots of flowers, veggies and herbs as well as my collection of Mom's and a few experiments Attached are two pics - one from each tent. /monthly_2013_05/IMG_2111.jpg.fc4044494f683634ff91bff622992e1d.jpg /monthly_2013_05/IMG_2112.jpg.8cbee81c204c73dbe5920ee09fb66b70.jpg
