My wife and I just started the e-cigarattes, and as far as I'm concerned they are just as good as the real thing. Haven't had a real one in a few days now. (If anybody wants to try, let me know and I can share some things I've learned with you.) But that got me wondering, could these be used as a portable vaporizer for something like hash oil. They come with pre-filled nicotine/flavor cartridges, but you can also get empty cartridges that you can fill yourself. Why not fill them with hash oil? I could see dispensaries selling hash oil cartridges for people to use with their e-cigs. Sure would be a lot more convenient than something like a Volcano. Anybody ever try this? Any reason this would be a bad and/or stupid idea?
How much a pack do they run? We used to coat ciggs with oil and smoke it at school, but i guess you could always try and see what happens?
The empty cartridges are $8.95 for a five-pack, and they say the cartridges can be refilled up to 5 times. One regular, pre-filled cartridge is supposed to be equivalent to a pack of cigs. I don't have any hash oil, nor do I know how to make it, so I really can't give it a try. But this sure seems like a great business opportunity for some enterprising dispensary owner or mmj business (assuming it works).
Sounds like a fine plan to me. The e-cigs are really nothing BUT a vaporizer....and I dont think they care what substance they vaporize. I didnt know you could get "blanks", LOL. I knew you can goet them without nicotene....I guess those are just the flavoring? How do you get the hash oil INTO the cartridge? If this works....you could literally sit right in your neighborhood bar toking away! No smoke, no smell.... It's brilliant. Please try it and let us know-- IF it works, I expect you could start a nice little biz advertising in High Times, "Enjoy a TOKE in PUBLIC!", LOL....and sell the "e-joint"--a fill it yourself blank cartridge. Ummmm...I wonder if the various brands of e-cigs can use other brand's cartridges? Or do you have to buy the cartridges that "go" with your e-cig? Ive got the V-2 e-cig and while it's fine for using in restaurants, I cant say I like it as much as the Real Thing. So....what brand of e-cig did you get? Maybe I just need to try a different brand. . PM me with details, please? Love ta whatcha dance, Tony.... HUG Dix
Another cool idea would be for that enterprising guy to make a cartridge that has a screw-off "lid", so you could open the cartridge and stick a tiny bit of bud into it, screw down the lid.... Much easier than having to make or buy hash oil! Dix
You really ought to! I think it matters a lot which brand of e-cig you buy---I have the V2 and they offer a couple of different tobacco flavors. One is "Congress" and the other is "Cowboy". I think the Cowboy is supposed to taste like a Marlborough. They also come in three strengths-- so, you can get a lot of nicotine or medium or light--- It does absolutely feel and taste like a real cig--- but for me, the Cowboy is a bit too strong. They run sales all the time and will email you to let you know, so you can get a five pack of cartridges, equal to five packs of cigs for around 12 bucks when you catch a Sale. I was smoking mine in Walmart and the manager came over to tell me I couldnt smoke in there.... and when I showed it to him he was blown away. From across the room, he thought it was a real cig--the vapor you blow out looks exactly like smoke...but vanishes quickly and has NO smell at all. It's really pretty cool. In fact, they look so real that I understand some of the brands make the light at the tip blue instead of red....so that people WILL be able to tell it's an e-cig and NOT come over to tell you "You cant smoke in here". I don't know how it works, just saw the info on blank cartridges on the web site. Judging by the way the cartridges look, I wouldn't be surprised if it requires a syringe, as they don't appear to open. Just guessing. Maybe the blanks are made differently to make filling them easier.
I don't think that would work. This is not a vaporizer like most here would think of one. It only heats the liquid to slightly warmer than body temperature, so I doubt it would be hot enough. But who knows. Maybe I'll take a closer look at one of the spent cartridges and see what might be possible. BTW, I'm a menthol smoker, so I think the menthol flavored cartridges are probably more like the "real thing" for me than the plain "tobacco" flavors would be for a non-menthol smoker. For me it's just like switching brands and getting used to a somewhat different flavor. After only a few days, the real thing now tastes kind of odd to me.
I guess it was a pretty good idea after all: http://hailmaryjane.com/bong-of-the-day-ivapor-trippy-stick/#more-39981 about the big image, I don't know how to resize it.
So how did the e cigs work for you as far as smoking cigs went? My wife is thinking about trying them to kick the habit.
Yea just started chantix here, BTW, do you still need recipe for oil? Pretty easy with 190 proof everclear, anytime someone dips in the oil stash they just wipe the remainder on a smoke for later (beats losing it). I heard those ecigs where hell on the lungs... how do they work?
Yeah I didn't read the whole thread....we sell the evapes with oil in them.....popular product...I've heard using tincture in them too....raveen
For me, they (V2 Cigs) worked extremely well. I haven't smoked a real cigarette since I started, about 4 months now. However I am now just as addicted to the e-cigs as I was to the real thing. So I'm no closer to actually quitting, but at least I'm inhaling about 99% fewer carcinogens. And they are not at all hard on the lungs. Quite the contrary. My lungs are in much better shape now, and I rarely even cough any more. My wife on the other hand has not been so successful. She tried the e-cigs for a while, but never really made the transition. She's now pretty much abandoned them and is back on the real thing. For me, the secret was convincing myself that the e-cigs are just another kind of cigarette, like switching to a different brand or to a pipe. Once I got used to the differences (flavor, weight, draw), real cigarettes now taste really bad. One warning: Be very careful if you try the high nicotine cartridges. It is very easy to get carried away and just continue "smoking." You can quite easily OD, resulting in a severe headache and nausea. I'd recommend starting with the lowest nicotine and working your way up if necessary. As opposed to most people I've talked to that start with the highest nicotine and plan to work their way down. A little nicotine goes a long way.
