Thinking about throwing some tables together. I need some advice, basically when to flip 12/12 on tables and how do you support them and any dos and don'ts you've learned from experience. I've read up pretty well just looking for something with less maintaining. Whats best table set up 3*3 with a 600 or 4*4 with 1k also do you have to keep the same strain under there? What happens if you got a ten weeker with 8? How big can they go, and whats the best for stability? Ive seen some basically scrogging, SOG, and then others with larger containers to help support the plants. Whats the better less headache way of going? I'm guessing yeild will go down per plant but hoping for SIMPLE once, twice a week gardening
When to switch? Nippy depends on how much ceiling ya got. Either that or tie them down. I like em big because the bigger they are the more bud they will produce. You just grow em till you think they will double in size for the ceiling and cut the lights back. I would not go with less than a 1000. MOre is better. ONe light with eight tubs on this outfit was bringing 1 1/4 lbs on a grow. I increased the light I run two 1000's side by side on a rail and a 600 stationary on the end. Behind that I run a shelf with another 600 stationary. The grow increased to 3 1/4 lb's at a pop with no effort. I tie em everywhere when they get huge. To the walls ect. Some even hang fish weights on them to hold the tops over everybody does it differant. I dont use the actual tables. I prefure the tubs. I do 10 gallon tubs and put four to the whole like were planting corn. Four plants per tub. You know my system it never changes. I have five gallon buckets under these tubs and hand dump em twice a day. I like the lava cinders as they hold a lot of water and twice a day is enough as ya know I grow other things besides weed. The advantage to this style is I can plant 10 differant strains in separate tubs. I can adjust the nutes anyway I want to individual strains and pull the plants early that that are ahead of other strains. Cheers t6
I'm in love with my ebb n flow. I've never had production like this. My main change next time is that I'm going to use two nets. The buds on these got so big they were popping out all over the place and there are a lot hanging with no support. I'm also going to be sure to monitor my ppm a little closer. I burned them early on with too heavy food and they took a bit to recover, but as you can see they recovered quite nicely. I finally figured out what this is. New York City Diesel. I started out thinking it was an OG, but I must have mis-labeled them in veg. It's a 2X3 flood table with 6 plants under a 600 watt hps. Useless formula. I've been using peroxide and flushing for 24 hours each res change. Every three hours my pump kicks on for 15 minutes. /monthly_2012_09/enf.jpg.db2b3eb091ff654c5f8c329444bab7f1.jpg /monthly_2012_09/enf2.jpg.dff4d23659cb6ed5a80abfbad617160f.jpg
When I run tables, I space them 1 per sq. ft. and flower them at 12-15" tall. Since each table has its own ressy, you need to run just one strain or at least strains with similar flowering times and feed requirements.
on a table on close can you go like how many per square foot T,those things are monsters as usual, how many pumps do you run for them? Whats the return look like any pix?
what size holder do you use? Or is it better to fill the table with hydroton? I'm used to 5 gallon buckets filled with roots, just having a hard time seeing how the plant can support itself. JR, I see the net you have, does that hinder cleaning? last time I switched to dwc I hated it because it didn't turn out how I thought it would. Hempys on a larger scale are starting to be a pain because of the constant mantaining. Also, is it better to veg and flower on the same table, of can I still do a veg room and flower room? Multi lights tables, but was hoping to use one room to flower without building additional walls. Is ebb truly as easy as they say?
Personally I use the 10" net pots made for a 5 gallon bucket. With the lip, they are 12" diameter which is perfect for the spacing I use. Fill those with Hydroton. I then place a piece of panda film over the whole table and secure it in place with clips. Then I cut a small "X" in the film over each net pot to allow me to insert the clones. Because I use the panda film to cover the roots, I veg in the same table. But there are other ways to skin a cat. You could clone in 1" cubes, veg on 4" cubes and then place the 4" cube on top of a hugo 6" cube in the flower table. Ebb N Flow is easy. I taught Ras EnF and he's banging it like $2 thai hooker. CC also made the switch and is digging it for ease of use. Ask any questions you like, happy to help you dial it in. Cheers
Ive grown 6 differant ways in 5 years and the MOST healthy and successful yielding plants ive ever gotten have been via Ebb n Flow, with RDWC taking 2nd and only cuz of the slime issue i had.....RDWC will yield heavier but youll constantly be haivng some type of fight to keep it perfect..........E n F is where its at and that comes from experience in failing from my end :rofl6: Temps can be higher in Ebb, ill take a pic for yah so you can see the health and perfection from a table, its unreal and honestly kinda makes me mad that i DIDNT LISTEN EARLIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrr But from a guy who has no limits on spending money or trying new things, DO THE TABLES Nippie...you'll never look back again, swear to you brah! From a 2x4 table with 8 plants of AK47, under a single 600 vertical, i pulled 17.5oz of ROCK hard buds........my best quality has been from tabels too and the most talked about products as well, i cant say enuff Now all i gotta do is get a CAP system and outgrow that Fusion guy....:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::not-worthy::not-worthy::not-worthy::BangHead::bduh::kidding:
Nip-It's that easy. I'm a busy guy with a full time work and a long commute. I get home and my kids need a bunch of my time. So with little time to tweak and peak the plants, I'm finding ebb and flow the best. I think it's easier than soil. You just have to spend 5-10 minutes making sure the res is full and checking the plant health. The net doesn't get in the way at all. The only thing I have to remove is the res at the bottom once a week to clean it out and refill.
Oldest plants just started week 5. So I have some time to get exactly what I need. Thanks guys I do apprec this. I like the idea of the 10" pots, that was one of my biggest fears was plants falling over once in flower. Will panda film being enough to construct walls to block out light? If I went with 4 lights in one room but half assed framed it off with panda film on both sides, is that enough to block the light (so I don't hermie flower with the ones vegging)? Also I guess you basically are forced to keep moms then instead of just continual cloning then. I usually just clone right before I throw a plant into flower and keep that clone in veg until the "mom" gets 'ye olde axe, but I don't think that's going to work right now. Do you guys run an extra room to look for males/females on news strains. I just popped a bunch of beans (non-fem), should I not worry about finding a mom and set the new plants off to the side of the table just to sex and then run a the new females on a table to find a mom? Haha, one last question for now (i'm sure more are coming), does anyone have a good idea on how to make the transition from hempy to EnF? I'm adding more lights, and as I do I will be making the switch so each new light will be over a table, but as far as all the plants I have now, should I just clone them again once they are going on a table and then veg for a week or two, or is it possible to try and rinse the perlite/verm off and then throw them hydrotron? Was worried about something clogging the return CC, that's impressive, and fuck rdwc, I had nothing but issues with that. PH fluxed bad and then try to correct it, I would over shoot it and then be real low....the wife is scared that's going to happen again. Useless, I don't mind be schooled by the masters. I just want something a little easier. I got hempy dialed in, but getting too old to rinse perlite and do all this!! I'm about to clone those others that I had a small issue with, but even the little one that was laying down is now growing big and strong. so 80% 4 out of 5 on beans that where close to a year old. Thanks t6 and jr for the help. I'm sure this thread is going to get longer as I get closer to to finishing off all my hempys.
You can build walls from panda film. Foil tape and construction glue are your friends for sealing the cracks. I always keep a mom room. When I run a new strain, I do it off the side of the table so I know how long it takes and what kind of feed schedule it likes.
