i need some help please. i have a C.A.P Valueline 6" fan, and that mo'fo is LOUD! not it running, but the vibrations thru my entire house!! my house is 80% hardwood floor which im sure doesnt help, but i need this thing a little quieter. its in my unfinished basement attached to floor joists right now. im a fairly handy guy, with your basic power tools. anyone have a good, cheap fix for this?

Hang it from a bungee cord, remove the mounting plates, leaving you with just the rubber pieces and the 2 bolt/screws........hook the bungee hook around that bolt..........slam a big nail in your joist horizontilly and hang that bitch with the ducting, you'll NEVER hear it again

i mean the fans just hanging from flexible bungies if u were to hit it , it would move. The way u cant hold a fast spinnin bicycle wheel or the way a ceiling fan wobbles when its out of balance(centripetal force i believe) when i read ur first response the first thing that i thought was the fan start rockin back and forth gettin worse all the time and ur not there to stop it. leavin ur operation is self destruct mode. Then i scrolled down and saw the pics and it does look stable and secure. i was just wondererin if it had any movement to it or if it just sat perfectly still

I think you mean Centrifugal there cuz....

And it's negligible in this instance.

Nope SWAY, i think the high velocity fans run WAY to fast for that to happen, i see your point but no sir does that ever happen, been doin it for years, no issues

    Thanks D

I have mine hung the same way.

re sway: I always thought it was because the fans pecision balanced.

Centrifugal is the rite word  thanks psycho D

i was planing on doing somthing similar in my grow area but i was thinking too complicated and didnt have a solution. Bungies look like they work great, bungies it is.

Great idea... I put some bubble wrap between the wall and the bracket. Helps. Just no way I could hang anything else in my way.
