Well I have been watering for a couple of weeks.. No feeding at all.

The buds are starting to develop.

I'm thinking of mixing up some soil mix with 1-10-0 sea bird and watering with molasses and kelp.

    Any suggestions?

im not sure about the mollasses, i know some folks who use it, but they buy some that has no salt in it, or somethin like that. its the simple sugars u want from it, right? anyways, are you talking about putting a layer of ferted soil on top, and watering through it? im not sure i understand, but maybe u could use a little tiny bit of K too.

Hey Randy, Nice to finally see some pics of your new dirt box in action!

    Looking forward to the updates.

  4. Jamaican bat guano & budding stimulators! It did wonders for yours truely! Molassis is great 2, but I only used it the last few weeks of flowering.

I am trying to be totally natural this time. I won't be buying products like Liquid Karma or such.

So my materials are the raw or bulk kind...

Thanks for your reply/ I took not of the last two weeks.. I also hear that Jamacian bat is the best..

I have a box of Sea bird tho... Gonna use it up.

I lay down a layer of mix to feed the soil microbes yes.

I find it easier to take a bag of organic soil mix, scoop some into a bucket and add things to that then spread it out then to try just to spread out the raw materials..

Also I find that the soil level drops as materials get processed by the microbes so it's good to add new bulk.

I sure can add some K...

And yes I will lay down a feeding layer. Wet that then take my pump sprayer full of liquid mix and water that new layer and then water the layer with plain water again.

    I have excellent drainage.

I thought to get any new and improved Organic ideas before I start.

Yes, I checked it out. You are right! That is a very nice picture. :punk: I see you are using it as an avitar now.

Very good use of color. I like the way the dark red blends into the green, then the lighter white in the bud area. Did you plant it that way or did it just come out like that? You could have it blown up and framed!

No it's one of those chance things. I'm not even sure what setting I was on but I think it was the snow man one LOL.

I agree it's a backdrop quality picture for sure. I love that one.. I have a few I think highly of and that is on the list.

That's the Rainbow and she is looking dense at such a young age.

To be fair my grow has been a struggle.. The new environment is way different from the old one.

And I had some stunting of the seedlings.. Wouldn't know it now. Learned about minerals and how the effect growth..

I think bud shots will be the best part of this first run in the new room..

I'm not expecting high yields but I doubt I will be left wanting.

Organic grows might benefit from ammending the grow medium in the final stages of flowering, but mine always taste/grow better when they receive nothing but pH-balanced water in that stage of development.

We spend all this time feeding good food to the plant (they put that food into development and storage - leaves). I want the stored food to go into the leaves in the last few weeks of flowering. It is a good thing for a plant that was fed well throughout veg to have yellowing fan leaves at the time of harvest in my opinion. If the leaves yellow too soon it is obviously not a good thing.

    Randy,

The best way to see if it works is to experiment. You already know what MJ plants typically need throughout their development. I would generally say that an increase with 1-10-0 sea bird and kelp is a good idea, but I have never grown with your medium. I would not personally ever put molasses in my medium either, but I have a particular method and system that works for me and the strains I cultivate.

My main guide is the Lights out smell.

Once the light go out at night the plants express a vast amount of sweet cherry like smell. It gets past the carbon filter!

I have noticed after watering only for two weeks that the cherry like smell is a bit fresher and light like clean fresh mountain water is. If that makes sense. I figure it relates to nutrients/

Yes I am thinking a little more Azomite and the sea bird. Then a Coffee, kelp , molasses water mix. I like cowboy-coffee in my mixes LOL!

The Molasses is a test. New this season to evaluate so it's a risk I am taking. I have done a bit of research on it an feel comfortable in it use.

I see we are thinking along the same lines.. Glad to have some feedback.

As a change to the subject have you ever used a brix meter Indi?

    Thye Fix is in.

That should be enough for the rest of the flowering.

One thing about Organic soil is once it's up and running I can kick it into auto pilot..

Just water from here on out.

    Thanks for the help guys!

I'll update when I have news... Basically the buds are like my avi ATM.

You are missing the point of this grow Doc... All natural with raw materials vrs manufactured products like those.

    But thanks for the input.

    Found the Cherry smell.

    I found the sweet smell.

The one glad in the Back has buds that smell candy like some where between cherry and strawberry.

I think I should clone her.. There are a few suckers in the dark they should work fine.

    Man that's the sweetest smell...

    Cool Doc!

    Okay I noticed a change.

I did water with a mix but it had molasses in it and what I noticed was Sap!

As some of ya know from reading my posts.. This season is an overgrow.

It's like learning how to manage my room all over..

    I'm just hanging on here.

So I have to just grin and bare it and snip off anything too tall.

In snipping tonight I got drops of sap on my hand.. large drops I add.

    Hadn't seen this before.

Also the smell of the blooms has perked up. The plain smelling bud now has a sweet smell and the one that was sweet is stronger now kinda more strawberry like now.

    Well Just thought to share.
