Having a problem with my 3x3 flood tables. Been running them with no issue for over 2 years and all the sudden over last 2 weeks something is up. Started off noticing they weren't taking off as usual and then noticed some browning on the roots. Added some H2O2 at res change thinking that would take care of it. Now they have almost stopped altogether and I noticed the res was cloudy when I went to change it. Roots don't appear to have grown in last week and appear browner and sorta slimy. But the plants are perfect. Maybe a little smaller leaves but nice other than that. I've read up but don't know if I'm dealing with pythium or something crazier and which direction to head in. I run 9 plants per table, 40 gallon res, GH nutes. Change res every week. Anybody who's dealt with something similar I could really use some help here before things go really south. It would really suck to knock down and restart.

Trim the slime and brown shit off, pay attention to the good roots though, your on the right track with the h2o2. Do you clean your res when you change your nutes? I use a weak bleach solution to spray when I empty it and rinse it real good, I also do the same with the tables after harvest. If you've got some root disease someone else can help but, that's what I did to cure that in my tables. I also add 60ml of h2o2 in my 20gl res every nute change. I don't think those plants that did that ever fully recovered.

That's a head scratcher for sure, running so long with no issues then to have slime. Can you identify anything that is different now? I would suspect light leaks in to the reservoir or table.

I wanted to be proactive so I drained ressys and cleaned the shit out of the lines and pumps with a mild bleach solution. Cleaned each res put it all together again and added 50 ml 35% H2o2. Maybe I'm not adding enough? As to the cause it is a head scratcher I've never seen this. It's possible res temps got up as we've had some slightly warmer weather lately and the room has been running a little warmer. I never check tho cause I've never had an issue. Lights shouldn't be issue I cover table in panda film and res is covered with a slight crack where hole is drilled for pump cord. This sucks haven't noticed much growth in a week and unfortunately I flipped them a week ago so now I'm either stuck dealing in flower or have to revert them back to veg. Read a lot about aqua shield any thoughts on that?

In my experience , I've added to much h202 , and gotten slime issues. After surfing the net I learned it kills beneficial bacteria and allows the slime to advance easly. I changed the rez to a very light nute mixture for a week and they began to grow again.

Wish I could help... But I'd keep an eye on res temps, double check light leaks, maybe a bad bottle if nutes?... Is there enough aeration in your res?

Ya one of the common recommendations is to add a tea but I'm not sure I wanna go down that road. I've had such good results since I started tables I hate to change anything. Res looks good after 3 days but also haven't added nutes yet. The roots are a mix of crummy and healthy.

sounds like a problem I had..mine was from too little slope on my table that left standing water in the front of my table, within a few weeks things got bad and moved from the front to the back of the table....I tried to chop off the brown crap but to no avail, had to start over

    my guess is rockwool,

you are probably flooding too frequently, and the plastic cover is trapping in too much humidity, moisture.

if using RR,get rid of the plastic, fill the table halfway up with hydroton ,that will keep the roots growing out from underneath the blocks from being exposed to light and it will anchor the blocks too, make sure to bury an surround the blocks in the hydroton, limit the floods to about every four hours or more, just flood long enough until the water reaches the overflow.
