WTF, first corn and soy beans, now potatoes and some other vegetables have been approved by fda to be genetically modified. They say the new potatoes don't bruise as easy and they don't have some chemical naturally found in potatoes that gets released and supposedly causes cancer when cooked at high temps. I think it's a bunch of BS, what do y'all think?
I wish they'd leave our food alone. They're paving the way for people to grow big organic gardens they don't have to worry about. People have been eating potatoes to thousands of years. Now they cause cancer when cooked at high temps? Maybe its the fat french fries are fried on that cause it.
I'd rather eat an heirloom potato from my garden. Wonder what the incidence of potato caused cancer was in Ireland about 150 years ago?
I seen a produce truck rolling the other day that was from "blue bonnet hydroponic farm". Made me start thinking about a hydro vegetable garden. And after seeing this shit on the news this this morning, I'm thinking about a plan for a year round gardenasssit:
Have you looked at Aquaponics? Some wild DIY setups out there and seems to be pretty low cost after the initial setup. The company I got my Lumigrows from specialize in Aquaponics. Seems to have a lot of potential really. I like the idea of growing your own protein source and letting it feed the garden. Be the perfect Hippie-commune lifestyle gig. Be Cool, CG
When was the last time you guys saw tomatoes growing in the wild? How about corn? Wheat? Watermelon? MAD MAX
