Has anyone use General Hydroponics Maxi-grow or Maxi-bloom? They're supposed to be single part nutriens tht buffer ph and get you through the cycle on their own. I'm sticking with the useless formula because i like the better control. Share your opinions please.

Advanced nutrients is offering the auto ph buffering in their sensi grow

and sensi bloom series as well. For some reason I am a little leary

of that claim. I too am interested in anyones experience with auto correcting ph nutes.

I thought those just contained less salt. That's the sales line I received anyways. Not organic, but "safer and less salts" than traditional.

I didn't know that they would buffer PH, I can't see how that is even possible as everyone's water is going to start at a different PH and temps and PPMs all have a driect relation to your PH.

Do you have any info on the claim

edit...to clarify when I'm saying buffering PH I mean taking it 5.5-6.5 (5.8!!). GH as a whole drop your PH when adding the Bloom much more so than Grow. Having the correct PPMs will help avoid drift of your PH but this is only a concern for those using E&B or DWC....us simpletons that use hempy or soil aren't as effected because we don't use the same ressy for a week or more at a time.

    start clean

If you start with pure RO water and mix everything accordingly your ph does it need to be buffered unless you're in a recirculating system. even then if you just use your ph buffered nutrients with the r o water . if the parts per 1,000,000 are correct does it really matter what the nutrients are the ph should not drift. at least I don't have an issue with that until I start adding beneficial microbes to the reservoir

Mt King, can't you achieve the same results with RO and Lucas? I Dont understand the benefit.

PH drift is a normal process which varies with plant uptake. Even starting at 5.8 and stabalized it will change as the solution gets weaker. When it will no longer stabalize its time to change the solution.

With the crappy water here I knock it down to 5.8 and it will varie a couple of days probably 3 days then stabalize out for about 5 days and then start to drift off scale. Time to change the solution after that.

ON my system that has been the norm just my two cents.

    recirculating verses drain to waste

In a recirculating system you get ph drift anyway But if you're in a constant feet Drain to waste The ph will never change Unless you at beneficial microbes or a bunch of different attitudes with organic material in them. I found drain to waste much more economical Every time I feed her getting your nutrients ph perfect The plants always look like they're happy. just like they do after a reservoir change. Then I'll just run water through it once or twice. Depending on what stage. And a 40 gallons I never have more than about 3 to 5 waste at the end . How much are you pouring out when you drain the reservoir and replenish it in a recirculating system

I figured I was dumped in about 25 gallons of leftover nutrient solution. On top of how much water they use
