I got a leak in my RDWC system today. Have the entire system drained now and everything re-sealed. Thing is I have to wait at least 12 hours for it to bond. Today is feeding day. What I did what just left them in the buckets, left their airstones turned on and sprayed a shit load of water into the hydroton and then sprayed the plants. Should they be okay until tomorrow when I wake up? I didn't know if they would die or what. I just didn't want to waste my RO water. Or Shall I fill them up with tap water just overnight? There's only two plants part of the RDWC.

dont use straight tap water unless its been sitting at least overnight to evaporate the chlorine

Thats an old wives tale....in theory it makes sense I suppose but it has zero effect...

U seriously need to ditch the Rdwc n DWC, your in a townhome on a 2nd floor, what if the entire thing decides to overflow or a fitting lets loose??? (which would never happen if you listened to ME)

You get flooded and a neighbor has your landlord or fire dept knockin on yer door and then breaking it down......use your head

Them things should shrivel up and start to die off if it has no water but they might be able to come back fully, should have some leaves fall off tho

Well the plants did just fine without water for 12 hours. In my grow log it's all updated. SirStynkalot, No idea of what your talking about. My power bill is roughly the same as all my neighbors, and I take every extra precaution I can for security. Why you think I'm making a false window? Why would I buy a security system just for my house? And no I'm not ditching the RDWC, the plants are looking great in it and love it. I'm actually gonna hook the other two up to their own control buckets, cause I enjoy the system so much. So if my posts bother you, don't respond.

    drain to waste

Deep water culture is your fine and so are recirculating the problem is the nutrient solution weekens until you change it and ph drifts.

Been proven time and time again side by side with a soiless medium that a drain to waste systems will use less nutrients overtime have healthier plants. everytime you feed him it's like giving you a recirculating system a new reservoir change. I almost doubled my yield Switching from a recirculating system to a drain to waste. and my waist nutrients are less than my reservoir I dump out at the end of the week

What is a drain and waste? Like fill and drain? Two pumps? One in the res and one in the control bucket?

Drain to waste means when your buckets drain they literally drain to your water waste line. This might be hard for you unless your room has a drain in the floor . Or you have a place to drain them into . I dunno how the set up works but I'd assume that it would only need one pump to fill and then the drain would just be gravity. If it needed to be drained into something other than the waste line you'd probably need a pump to overcome gravity .

Now your tents. You plan on running both 6 and 4" fans right ? Or are u running one 8" 747? Because it sounds like you still want to run the 550cfm filter and 440 cfm fan in the 4x4 with the 1k light .... (THIS IS 100% good) I run the exact same and its fine . The 3x3 with the 400 I'm guessing your running with your 4" fan about 200 cfm's. this should be OK.

The rule of thumb from what I know is air needs to be replenished every 2-3 times a minute and up to 5 times if your running a lot of watts. Your tent is like 80cubic feet or something so at MAX it's probably only replenishing it 2 times a minute. At the lower end but could still work
