Hi all! Been a while. Workin on getting back to growing for a bit again. Any chance a mod could help me get my account back? No idea how to recover it...
Woohoo! Thanks Mr. GJ! Working on getting set back up, probably going to be something tiny this time. Moved to a really expensive city and only have a 3x6 space to work with and a 6 plant limit under my new card. More to come.
Hey man welcome back. I took a brief hiatus and when I returned I realized these cats totally love pics!
Aw hell. I posted about the rec grow I built a couple years ago. I can put up some porno from that one at least. This entire crop ended up getting clean cut a few days after this pic because the entire room hermied - after they kicked me out of the grow and stole my cut they started using the ceiling green lights to work in the room several hours a day and I wasn't really in a mood to help them at that point. Ended up being a total loss because the guy they replaced me with charged a lot less than I do but he didn't know how to actually grow or how to make any concentrates except open blown BHO which is very, very illegal for a rec op.
Couple hundred plants each of three different cuts. Supposedly they were Alaskan Thunderfuck, Cindy 99, and one other I can't remember. All three strains hermied but all three moms were from my house so it's possible I screwed them up. But I'd understood that strains from other places were having the same problem until they finally listened to my parting advice and stopped messing with the lights. But it honestly could have been a half dozen other things that helped cause the hermaphroditism since that was their starting level of knowledge. As far as I know they're still dropping temps below 70 in the grow room just to make it more comfortable for them to work in there. It took them about a year from being licensed until they had a successful crop that hit the market. They're doing relatively well now. Pulling something like .3-.4 gpw (and out of LEDs at that) but they're getting high test results and a very high wholesale price now that they've moved toward monocropping their best strain.
It was a nightmare job and they were terrible to work with. I once went on vacation to Hawaii for a week and came back to at least $10,000 dumped into decorating the inside of the warehouse and none of the actual work done. I'm well shot of them even though they stiffed me on most of the bill.
Here's a pic I snapped of the moms a month or two before they were moved in. Was doing long term veg only on a very, very low budget in my basement. I ended up keeping them for about 18 months in that basement.
Usually C99 is pretty easy to grow. I ran her for over 5 years before (brothers grim) with no problems. Then I got some from Female seeds version and those hermied. I got some from Mosca seeds and they are nice, but the ones from female seeds After I cloned them turned out sweet.
Nope. But I'm in law school right now so that's probably a good thing. I do a piss poor job of being the respectable face of marijuana businesses as it is, regardless of the suit. And that's the role I've ended up in whether I like it or not. It's like being the token black guy at a bankers' meeting and I'm down on the corner bumming cigarettes five minutes in. You can take the man out of the streets...
JCIO, it could have been a number of things. Off the top of my head: The whole batch of C99 took 21 days to clone and their success rate was about 40% because the other co-owners kept opening the vents on the clone trays in a cold, dry room (it took me 11 days for that strain with over 90% on the first try on my own), Both the veg and flower room night temps were in the low 60s at best, the days were high 60s, and the RH was at about 30%, I put on too much cloning solution, We did this as a batch of over 1000 clones as a training round for our new employees, most of whom had no experience with marijuana and who didn't have a feel for nicking the inner bark layer thingy with a razor blade without breaking the woody part of the stem, The light cycle was erratic between 18-24 hours for almost the entire cloning period, And the boss freaked out at one point and set the heat to over 100 degrees because she read the wrong manual to work the thermostat. Oh, and that's just in the first three weeks while this batch was cloning and before they gave me the axe. And they never presexed so they didn't catch it until week 6 of flowering, two weeks after everything had pollinated everything. Good riddance. How the fuck do you work with that. So they had much, much longer to work on my little girly boys after I was gone and I can't be sure what caused it. But the most consistent offenders were the temperature problems and light problems (and watering consistency, but that's another story). But keeping overhead lights with shitty covers that shoot white lights out of the sides on for hours at a time during dark cycles is a definite no-no, so that's the one I generally go with when I tell the story.
Too many hands in the cookie jar. Lol. wherr did the c99 come from? Breeder wise? I love C99. Prob my fav to grow. Fast veg and flower, great taste and smell. Uplifting high.
