How long did it take you to produce decent weed?

How long before you grew anything that had decent high?

Growing is very hard. I have to go back to indica. Having no luck with other stuff (Acapulco gold, WW, AK, Haze, etc.) last 4 grows in last stages of flowering.

I hit it lucky first time with some HPS lights, few pots, some gifted seeds and some cannasoil  In fact iv never failed a grow.Iv had the odd plant in a grow fall by the wayside but "the grow" always produces something.Depends what methods, strains and medium your using i suppose:smokin:

End of flowering always seems to take long for me. I've only had success with skunk, NL (first grow) even though the plants looked lousy.

    had a good strain. Organics

I always used organics so is always good the problem was I had to learn when it was ripe

My first grow was only one plant and it worked out... kinda. The bud was nice and heady but the quantity wasn't there.

The next probably three runs alternated between successes and fails, with yields increasing with each success. Then I had a great run, switched out all my equipment and failed a couple of times again while I worked the kinks out of the setup. In my defense, I started learning with DWC and substandard equipment.

Really, the time it takes to consistently produce good crops varies. A lot of reading helps some, but an experienced friend helps a lot more for a lot smaller time investment.

My first grow was basically a training exercise. One or two plants in a closet (dirt) with a CFL hanging. Then I went hempy and have had success ever since.

Im 100% soil and always had success. The main thing I got right first time was heat and ventilation.

First time was outdoors. How can you go wrong? Indoors, first time and was with soil. I have also had a loss of a plant but not a grow. I would venture to say that just about everybody has one or two plants that have produced sorry ass buds and low yeilds.

I grew some outdoors in the 80's but it wasn't till I came indoors about 4 years ago that I really started growing some grade A herb. My heaviest yield was just shy of a pound from 6 NYC Diesel's but the quality wasn't great. My crappiest yield was Alien Bubba and the quality was great. My favorite so far has been TGA's Vortex. Great yield, powerful sativa high and smells incredible.

More than a few grows. Still have the odd garden that gets less attention than it should and can get pretty skanky looking. If I'm broke the gardens look perfect, if I'm flush they look a little ragged. Funny how that works.

Main thing i got right was my choice of lighting with a 400w hps. Perfect for my small closet grows. Soil has NEVER let me down.Plenty other successful methods but i'll always grow in soil indoors or out.Maybe use hempy method but thats me being adventurous :eusa_dance:

I grew some killer ganja my first attempt indoors. Yielded 1 1/4 lbs from 3 strains about 8 plants. One of the Super Silver Hazes I grew that round actually won a calendar contest for me.

The only time my quality has suffered was last year when I had the Powdery Mildew Infestation. That shit killed the yield not to mention that it made an entire crop pretty much worthless.

Number one was murder of heat, though if I had stayed in that house it would have been the best place EVER for growing once that issue was solved. Second one was all CFLs, good smoke, but not much there. Then the third one was a combo 9 light CFL veg, 400w HPS that killed it (My wedding smoke). All organic (basically).

I did things up proper my first round ever. I came to GK read a butt-load of threads and all the FAQ. Once I thought I knew what course of action I wanted to take I bought some inexpensive equipment. A 1k watt light off craigslist, a cheap ValuLine centrifugal fan, some flex ducting, and some panda film. I built a homemade grow tent with a passive intake and away I went. I used Flora Nova for my Hempy plants and Alaska ferts for my soil plants. When it was all done I couldn't believe the quality of the buds I had grown and I was hooked on growing ever since.

I guess the funny thing is that I was always a gardener. I successfully grew fruits and vegetables for years and years before I ever grew a ganja plant. I dunno why I thought that it took some special ability or knowledge to grow a ganja plant over a tomato plant but I did. Once I tried it I realized it's just the same.

That's was the same question I had like 9 years ago.....

For me it took me like 3 grows, first one burned by nuts, second one burned heat temp, and I had to do a lot of reading

But my third one I had success. .

I started with Bagseed about 10 years ago and what a mess. Once I got good genetics I was off to the races. The biggest factor in a successful grow is Patience. I started with soil, went to hydro and it wasn't my thang so now I am back to soil with a bit of coco and couldn't be happier.

Same thing here, only about 4 years ago instead of 10. I started with bag seed that I grew well but wasn't fantastic but as soon as I got some real genetics I had great success. Started with soil and hempy. Went to Flood and Drain tables and now I am going back to Soil using my tables as a drain to waste system.

Hydro was great. It grew fast and I got great quality but yields were no better than soil for me and I got sick of the weekly change out of 150 gallons of old nutrient solution, what a waste. Plus I had issues with timer and pump failure which can be catastrophic with hydro. Soil requires less attention on a daily basis and IMO grows just as dank of ganja.

I may go back to hydro again in the future but for now I'm content to go back to soil. :passsit:

Every option of growing will yield dank. As long as your comfortable growing in the medium of your choice, your ahead of the game. Hydro is not for the easily intimidated.

Dude...you don't know the arguments I've had about that one. Even had one chick get on my ass about not wanting to toke my "local organic" weed because hers is "Medical" from Cali and they grow only Hydro which is more potent."

$600 an OZ shipped in. :wtf?:

It took great restraint not to sit and school her about the finer points of Cannabis before stabbing her in the eyeball with a sharp stem.

Fuck that, I'd just lie to her and tell her I had another batch that was 100% medical hydro and seeing as I knew her I'd only charge 590!
