I know the basics and what im trin to achive, but i know theres more to it than i know. Anyone wanna throw down a hand in throwin me some tipps would be very appreciated. Well thx guys!
wwboy well beeding is some detailed stuff for sure---i started by (pollen chucken)---made some seeds and thought at the time i was breeding--found out all i did was make some seeds with really a number of unstable pheno types----later i grew out perhaps 500 plants and seen one/jist one that maybe had potential--it was purple--back then this was neverbefore seen by myself---kept it as a mother/took clones and by accident pushed one past its due date--it went hermi on me---well i decided to use it to pollenate my other purple girls---it went cool and i again made seeds--most were fem----i realized i had a good plant for the most part but it was still unstable and /could go hermi easy---so again i grew out 500 more of higher quality genitics from afghani landrace stock and picked out a later flowering stinky sort of blue tinted male to cross with my purple girl----a yr later grew out 200 of those seeds and found three purple/pink phenos---crossed again with the same father---those seeds again grown out to show me 30 out of 350 plants with the most awsome dark purple i ever seen----10 yrs of growing this and i finally ended up breeding it true with almost no chance of hermi even if you stress it hard---this all started by maken seeds but as you can tell these plants alone were grown out by the hundreds many timesover---ive learned much by makingass loads of mistakes and while it was worth it in the end i can say breeding for quality is so much harder than it seems-----too much space is neede for the average joe---if yahave that andalotof time/pateince ill wish ya luck and try to answer any questions best i can--maybe just make some seeds to start.
im a breeder!! im currently testing out my SKunkXBlueberry and AkXBlueberry which i cross bred by accident haha I mixed them up tho so i cant tell the difference between the two!!! therefore I am an unexperienced breeder haha
There is a big difference between breeding and making some seeds. I dont think anyone here qualifies as a breeder, including myself.
Growing is one thing. Breeding is entirely another story. making a batch of seeds is nothing. I doubt there is anybody on here that would start a 100 plants to pick out phenos for a breeding project and keep doing it constantly to achieve the results a breeder does. Useless is not a breeder but he should be he has probably more knowledge on the subject than one can take in. :beerchug-2: Teamster6
I'm breeding.....very very very slowly otleaf-3: Whenever I come across something good i'll save it in one form or another (clone it or use pollen from good males I have frozen), keep logs ect. When I got two good things i'll cross em, look for another good pheno, save it, ect ect ect ect.....but I guess I am not a "breeder", in the sense you guys are talkin. But I am making better and better plants, just in years not harvests. Oh, also, strain holds little importance. I am looking for the best possible plant to suit my needs and only my needs. I look for bud to leaf ratio, trich coverage, height, bushiness, and medicinal value. I rarely remember which strains i'm working with, I have over 25 at my disposal. Plants are labeled by numbers.
Pollen chucker at the lowest level here. Basically I know how to get seeds....that's the sum of it. WWboy..You've grown out over 1500 plants in 10 years? I'd love to see your garden. At 150 plants a year it has to be a hella set.
OHHHH pot breeders...sorry my second child is due soon .....though you ment that kind of breeding:beerchug-2:
