I have 2 beautiful plants growing and they are both at least 2 foot tall. I just cant seem to tell male from female. Ive seen the pictures on here of the male and females with the magnifying glass. Ive even taken a magnifying glass and looked at them. I definitely dont see any balls like the plant shows on here. I see very very small leaves or hairs coming out of both of them. Could I be so lucky to have both females !! Is it that obvious on a male plant ?? Its just too hard for me to tell. They are both beautiful though. Another thing I need help on..... I a Colorado resident& growing outside. The days are already getting shorter and its getting alot cooler here. Is there anyway to get the plant to start flowering early, or is that a stupid question !!?? Im a first time grower so Im not that familiar with the process. Im not sure just how to prune them either. I have them in flowering pots in a field with dead grass thats about 3 feet tall. I really dont want them to get much taller because they will become really obvious. I would really appreciate answers and suggestions. Thanks
well first this is "Pot Shots" if you want some serious advise you need to post some pics of your concerns. If you don't know how then do some research in the FAQ's. If you have basic question and need answers the best place to post them is beginners lounge, but theres nothing much you can do if the plant are growing outdoors besdies giving them plants nutrients when recommended. If they got small white hairs coming out of the stem where the branches are its FEMALE, if you see little pods its MALE. Goodluck
Thanks a bunch. I didnt realize I was in "Pot Shots" when I posted this message. Like I said, I am new here !!! I do appreciate all responses though. I looked at my babies again this morning and took the magnifying glass with me. I do believe that I have 2 girls !! How lucky could I be !! I definitely see small hairs coming out of both sides of the stalk. They are just too small for the naked eye. As I said, this is my first time growing so I need all the help I can get !!! I really appreciate all responses.
