I top one of my plants and the side shoots are about 4 inches long but where i top it another shoot is growing out? none of the others i topped are doing this. sorry no pic. I now have three tops
About you question, I'm not an expert, but new growth doesn't sound too threatening. If it worries you, check out the FAQ, or if you already have, just wait for someone beyond* my knowledge to post a more..definitive answer..but seriously, sounds fine to me. happened to me too. Don't worry you probably topped it wrong and actually FIMed it. FIM is when you dont cut off the entire growth shoot completely and it can get you as many as 8 tops with one snip. FIM supposedly stands for "**** I Missed." The guy who discovered it obviously botched a topping session.
Its called a trifoliate = of a leaf shape; having three leaflets trifoliolated plants have 3 sets of leaves .. its like triplets .. In the most part its a normal plant .. just looks cool..
again jon, but you are not quite getting that word into the correct context. I'm not picking on you. QUOTE Trifoliate -- of a leaf shape; having three leaflets. --http://www.cogsci.princeton.edu/cgi-bin....foliate Trifoliate -- having three leaves or leaflets, as clover, ie: shamrock. --http://www.thesaurus-dictionary.com/files/t/r/i/trifoliate.html Tri`fo´li`ate -- (Bot.) Having three leaves or leaflets, as clover. See Illust. of Shamrock. --http://www.webster-dictionary.org/definition/Trifoliate The situation we are discussing here is not trifoliates, rather axillary buds freely developing into branches as a result of removing a stem tip. Just stopping the spread of misinformation.
