We are trying to move things forward in Tronville, we came out of the closet, literally, about a year ago, we went from a small closet, roughly 2.5 x 2.5' to custom built skyscrapers, one for vegging, and one for flowering. The more recent ugrade was the addition of the auto-fire extinguisher we posted earlier. We raised the tax rate by 4 mils after this safety feature was put in and the additional revenue generated have now allowed us to further invest in our community. We are proud to announce our latest addition....................................we took our hydro-farms 430 watt down and have just replaced it with an electronic Lumatek dimmable 600 watt hps ballast and bulb.:thumbs-up: Let us say, the difference is remarkable, it literally makes the 430 look dim. We are still monitoring , but it looks to have only raised our temps by about 4 degrees which is acceptable. We wanted to say that this upgrade seems to be money well spent and would "highly asssit: " reccommend it to the community
depending on space i have a cab and its about the same size as the diy coleman cab that weedwacker built....the flower side is about 20"d x36"w X 48"h....do u think a 600k would work. i am getting ready to buy a light...would like your opinion...thanks
In a cabinet that size, you could face some serious heat challenges with a 6oo watt system, not sure if it could be cooled effectively. We have our's in a cabinet that is 36"d x 48"w x 60"h (60 cubic feet)and we are running at 8 degrees above room temps in our cabinet with a 265 cfm blower exhausting it. With that blower (our next upgrade btw) we are doing a complete air turnover in our cabinet about every 15 seconds and still have some heat buildup. So... we are not sure it would work effectively with a 600 in that space. perhaps someone else may have a different take but we say UPGRADE.....make that cab your veg area and build a bigger one for the flowering room.
you need to exaust the heat somewhere that size is fine as long as you exaust that heat somewhere out of the room with an inline fan...that's the only way it'll work.otleaf-3:
Quick update : We were flirting with temps in the high 80's so we went ahead and installed a six inch 312cfm inline fan and a cool tube reflector. The temps are now running mid to low 70"s so everyone in D'ville seems happy. :thumbs-up: so now we have a complete 430 watt system that we are considering wiping clean of all prints and selling to a friend.
I have a 600 watt lumatek in my closet size of about 3'length x2'deepx 4' high. Have no in line fan and if I close the door it goes 100+ degrees. Since I have no money at the moment :*( I leave the door open and run the ac. ( I run the ac yr round to sleep so no added cost to my bill wahoo ) so I def recommend getting the fan as soon as I get some cheddar that's what I'm doing. Good luck Tronman. What did u use to build the skyscrapers in ur city?
We Just used 1/2 inch plywood and 4 and 6 inch metal ducting for the air flow. We have a 265 dayton blower with 4 in ducting used to vent both grow and flower chambers. The 312 cfm inline is running with 6 in ducting and is used solely for venting the 600 watt system, it has a completly seperate intake and exhaust from outside the garden area. Remarkable difference with temp control this way, it appears to be money well spent.
