Most of you know my story, how I started smoking. From reading books when I was 13 about self-hypnosis, to books about monks and the drink Bhang. I understand that quote from DJ Shorts "Being 'stoned' isn't my goal; being 'high' or 'enhanced' is. Simply, I'm not into the 'stupefaction' aspects of herb. I prefer herb that opens me up, brightens my day, and makes me think and feel in a more positive way. I'm into cannabis that motivates and stimulates creativity" I want that pure almost psychedelic high, as well as that 'perfect' blend of relaxing the body, while stimulating the mind and lastly the bud that is the most narcotic I can find/make. Being that I've only ever grown the strains that I've grown, and bought what has to have been highly indica dominant weed for commercial purposes. I've never really known other growers growing connoisseur cannabis. I don't know if I even know what it feels like to smoke something that's close to pure Haze. Let's all talk about Haze, and Skunk, and some of the other original breeding strains out there. Hopefully I've not just been telling my partner bullshit, but the way I tried to explain it was something like this. 'The kind of bud that is super cerebral and heady grows very very very tall, yields very little, and takes a very long time. Therefore breeders started making hybrids. To try and achieve that kind of quality and high from a strain capable of indoor growing. I'm so god damn tired, I'm passing out. I had such great intentions for this thread. I'll get back to it tomorrow. I'm back though, starting fresh. I'll be on here more and more again
How do you think Thai Haze x Skunk #1 would do being vegged for two weeks indoor (so it has some strength) then moved outdoor in northern florida temperatures?
I'm from North Central FLorida. GREAT climate for growing cananbis. Usually doesn't get too hot, only too cold near the end of October. I love skunk strains. They never put me in a stupor(sp?), made me feel good and talkative. I'm naturally non-sociable, though. It never seemed to make me tired, but I usually slept pretty well after smoking it. I remember smoking some Orange Bud, or California Orange or something like that(it was orange something and skunky) once and it was fantastic. That was simply the greatest cerebral buzz I've had. I'm sure there's better out there, but that one is by far, the best I'VE had. After smoking it, I remember noticing all the different colors of the night. The sky seemed brighter, the trees were more alive, and I had an awesome warm fuzzy feeling. Since then, if the bud produces a cerebral/social high and is fruity/skunky.. I'm all over it... as long as I don't get couch-locked and get lazy. I like my smoke to be energetic and happy, not lazy and drooly.
Haze are a pain in the arse to grow indoors and outdoor you need to be near the equator to finish them off. Grown indoors they can develope a harsh taste, but the high is great. Keeping them healthy for 16 weeks is HARD, especially in small pots. I love the high, but id grow a sat dom hybrid.
I got 10 Super Haze in the seedling stage right now, going out in 2 or 3 weeks. Yes, I prefer the cereberal effects more as well. Not really ner the equator. Hopefully, things will work out.

FWIW - I am growing OT1 Haze, Landrace Thai from an island at 10-15* L, Chinese landrace, and South African landrace. These lines will all be preserved via open pollenation and passed on to growers who will do the same to ensure the lines do not vanish into the great caldron of hybdrids. They are all very different and have different needs. The OT1 really doesn't like nutes. The Thai can handle a bit more, but not much. Good luck......
I've grown a few haze hybrids. The most 'up' ones were ssh and thxsk. I'm currently growing Ace Oldtimer's Haze, the slowest plant I've ever attempted. I'm not sure if 12/12 is optimum for flowering, but it has to do.
Try 11/13. Gonna reduce your yield on indi's you got going in the same room, but they will be done about a week early.
Thanks Useless. I don't think a week will make much difference though. 4 weeks flowering and still no sign of sex.
They will start to show within the next 2-3 weeks. The week early on the indi's isn't gonna matter much at all. How about some pics man? I have some going myself...
I had went to belize awhile back and brought back some seeds I got from a few "rastas" I brought em back and they are doing good I selfed one to keep seeds of it on hand to experiment with basic 12/12 isn't to good so maybe the 11/13 will show better results I'm going to breed genetics from belize into a more stable plant but its been flowering for a long time and I read the most psychodelic bud flowers longer so that's going to b what I'm going for in my little program; longer flowering times, and the plants with fatter buds. Any advice as far as that's concerned useless? Yu seem to know the most about haze type plants
It really depends on what your final goal is. Are you wanting to cross the Belize to an indica for fatter buds? If you are wanting to keep the traits of the belize intact as much as possible, while stabilizing the line to produce fatter buds, you got some work. In general, when crossing distinct strains (not inter-related), the male tends to provide the bud formation and flowering times and plant structure, while the female will bring smells, flavors and potency. This is not to say the male has no influence on potency, quite the opposite. If you use a crap male you will get some crappy offspring. What I would do, is cross your best, stinkiest, densest male to a non dominant indica ibl plant. What you will find is a nice mix of the two, with your Belize making up most of the traits you are looking for. Then take the offspring, the most belize type female, and the again, the strongest, densest male and make some F2's. Then from the F2's you will find a male that is almost totally Belize dominant. Take this male, and back cross it to the original mother. The resulting offspring should be very much like the original mother plant, but with denser buds. Alternatively, you could make a cross of (Belize x Indica) x (Indica x Belize). Find a great male, and then cross it to the best Belize mom you have from the original seed stock. Then go pheno hunting. Cheers
As you describe, that's the high i'm looking for and the strain type too. I'm just not going to grow anymore hazes indoors. Not particular haze crosses such as sk1Xhaze(sams), just the high i'm looking for but were sensitive to grow and were over 9' tall, had to pull horizontally and have under 2 lights. SSH was excellent, but for the $per seed and high comparisons, other stuff cheaper and as good. A11 is a favorite of mine, 7+ weeks flower and huge yield of up happy pot. Usually grow C99 at the same time and both are excellent and very quick to flower. I can't imagine taking anymore plants past 10 weeks in flower. My attention span is too short!
I popped a few more beans from belize hoping for a male so depending on if I get one or not I will have a little better belize genes I'll b starting a thread soon here
