Well the laws are changing in this country fast concerning MJ legalization,

so I want to start looking into things, online degrees or courses, any thing that may help me job wise once it is legalized in this country or in my State.. So anyone one have any suggestions? :popcorn-2:

    What side of the fence?

I'm thinking once full legalization I would like to be on law side of things. Not like DEA, but one of the guys that write the regulations. It's something I would probably be pretty good at since I'm understanding both sides of the fence.

But I would say it depends on what you like and what your interests are. That way it's not work and you can be happy in life. Like I said the above probably would be my dream job, but since the outright legalization would need so much infrastructure you have many options other than just growing, selling, etc.

    So what's your hobbies?

I hear the Denver Post is looking for a freelance MJ critic.... so a simple Eng. Lit degree would help ya there.

Or, more obviously maybe a major in botany might go a long way in the production side of things..

    Just spitballing ideas.

We've chatted this before boss. Hoping at least one of us gets to realize their dream. :redbong:

They only guys I know who are making it are in side businesses. One in lighting and another building gardens. Then there's Stash, kinda think of extractors as side biz too. A couple old friends who were small timers in Washington have quit growing altogether.

Always thought some smart Real Estate cat could make a fortune lining up landlords willing to accept MJ based businesses. You could pre-qualify each possible site by zoning and local restriction so it saves clients time and frustration when looking for a location.

Just stoned rambling..:passit: Always thought it would be cool to participate in Oaksterdam U. Hey, here's one if you want to grow in some form. Get your Master Gardener cert. Sure couldn't hurt. http://www.ahs.org/gardening-resources/master-gardeners

From what i hear thats kind of funny as most say they rarely break even...sound like anyone you have ever listened to a farmer for 10 minutes and have them not bring up how bad eveything is. the best it gets is "it has been better"....but non of them are starving thats for sure.....

you better like it though cause it only pays about 10 cents an hour.lol...

If the Husband or wife has an income to pay the bills or both have an income then you can make it....but as a side biz only.....thats my opinion...

"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."

    Albert Einstein

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”

Ok iv kinda had fun sitting here imagining what i would do if i was in a legal state with the growing pedigree of MrGJ..... so just run with me here guys ok lol...but this is a serious proposition:

MrGJ the great thing about all these new regulations and changing laws in various states is that this is all slowly moving towards a federally legal crescendo. Name that tune man, they will literally be making up all sorts of new jobs and career titles out of this new Industry. I picture you getting a piece of paper behind you and going out there to people as "Dr.Greenthumb". Im talking you get some paper behind you to say your a qualified whatever (insert most suitable college qualification here) and set up your "A&E grow room". Basically when a Dispensary or local Producer of Weed has some grow problems they come to Dr.Greenthumb! You can go out and heal their grow or they need somene to plant sit for them. You can specialise in grow room design and even building the grow rooms. Companies can pay you to be the guy who builds their grow from start to finish and more importantly to MAINTAIN their grow. If you got 3 or 4 dispensaries paying you to maintain their grow operations then your laughing. You be the guy these stock maret vulture cats need to turn to for all their gardening expertise. Put yourself out there as dr.greenthumb or the ganja guru. Just make them pay and pay well for your services. For real...

Get yourself a qualification in something botanical cos your gonna be a specialist for growing but in particular at detecting the cause of plant problems and identifying pests and moulds. Get your botanical qualification, set up a website with a forum or have your website link to Growkind. Basically where your customers can ask questions about whats wrong with their grow. Get DanyDanko to give you some coverage and you got a good foot up the ladder already man. Think how many companies are getting in on this new MJ buiness but really they dont all have previous experience. Some of them are just money trying to make more money with no previous experience. You can offer NOT only expert advice on plant pests and problems. But your someone who people call when they wanna set up a grow and need to know the best type of grow for their purposes and finances. THESE PEOPLE PAY YOU TO DESIGN AND SET UP THEIR GROW ROOM,whether its a full hydro set up,soil or some hempys. A dispensary has a problem with all their plants be it deficiencies ,bugs or root problems....they call Dr.Greenthumb. A dispensary (or local producer) needs advice or someone to design a grow......they call Dr.Greenthumb. A dispensary or local grower needs repairs done to their grow room or upgrades installed.... they call Dr.Greenthumb.

You could start like that and you could take that Dr.Greenthumb thing in so many directions man. Make it a two fold business ,Dr.Greenthumb for all your plant emergencies and diagnosis's then you have Professor Greenthumb for people who want PROFESSIONAL advice on the best strains to grow and sell for this reason or that reason. Basically your making a new career of the back of these companies who will be entering the maret purely to capitalise from weed having never previously dealt with it before. All these kinda companies NEED someone they can turn to who can advise them what to buy, arrange the purchase, design the grow room, build the grow room,MAINTAIN the grow room and deal with any issues along the way. Seriously man, from call outs to diagnose a problem to having a local grower bring his rare mother pheno thats dying to you for a short stay in your own Dr.Greenthumb 'sickbay'.You cover all that as Dr.Greenthumb but you can offer garden design, building and maintenance aswell as a 'plantsitter' service for people or companies that are going out of town and need someone to come look after their plants or have somewhere safe they can take their plants for a period. Your that guy. Prof Greenthumb,Dr Greenthumb, whatever you wanna call it. You earn a living from the people who are earning their living from the new weed industry. Plant sitter, plant doctor, grow room designer/builder. You cover all them bases and you can SPECIALIZE in whatever area you get your qualification in

Think about it man..... You Administer a Grow Site for serious cultivators. All your best work is documented on here and you could even set up a Dr.Greenthumb facebook, youtube, twitter pages. Throw on all your grow shit and just display your expertise. Use your contacts at HighTimes to give you a plug or do a show or article where they interview Dr.Greenthumb.Im sure HT and VICE and all these type publications would love to run stories on a new type of career opportunity,an old school Professor whose here to teach the new breed grower and help them right their wrongs. So you got a website where your the king grower ,thats your credentials right there. You get some exposure via your HT contacts and thats your publicity. Throw in your newly gained qualification in whatever subject is most apt to your new job description and VOILA.... Dr.Greenthumb:bigok:

I know it sounds a bit out there but im telling ya man.If i lived out there and could back up my grows like you can then id do something like this man. Use what you've already got man,a true talent for growing. You could be the dude who a dispensary turns to when they wanna fit out a new building and grow area. Some dispensary has a major problem in their grow and they hit up the Dr.Greenthumb website for a quick evaluation. No matter what problem it turns out they have, you have a way of dealing with it,treating it and salvaging their grow. All they gotta do is give you a call:bigok:

Seriously, theres gonna be new careers made out of this industry. Mover and shakers in the business world are gonna enter this fray and need a qualified and respected expert to guide them through their critical entry to the MJ business world. You could be THAT guy MrGJ:ebert:

Paragraphs? When did Ap learn to use paragraphs? My eyes thank you compadre.

On that vein Ap, methinks the right avenue is to hook a gig at one of the Cannabis Colleges. They pop up whenever a State allows home growing or a regulated private supply industry. Was looking at a few the other day and realized their 'experts' have no better credentials than many of the folks at GK.

Could you imagine GJ sitting in a grow class watching some instructor fuck up a proper hempy? The cat wouldn't know what hit him if GJ raised his hand. Or CC sitting quietly in a Hydro course? Or me watching an incorrect balance in a soil mix or listen to some in class pitch for some shit ass store bought organic nute blend? How about ol' Stashie listening to some cat droll on about extracts? Or Use on....on.... well on anything cannabis. It'd be a hoot.

Yes yes very good. Mock my long post guy status but i cherish my title:tvlaugh:

But seriously... theres a lot of fat cat johnny come lately guys who are gonna enter thi s arena for the first time ,opening up dispensaries . Your not telling me all these companies do it themselves? No way, their gonna hire someone to design & build their grow with the most productive and easy to maintain set up. Then their gonna need someone to maintain that grow and deal with plant problems and pests. A guy who is regarded as a Ganja Guru and has a Weed College degree could very quickly build a reputation as the "GoTo Guy" for new companies entering the Dispensary Business and needing someone to do all the greenthumb work for them. MrGJ can build gardens,he can maintain gardens,he can determine problems with plants. I see an avenue here somewhere. What seems like a quaint funny idea to us now could easily become tomorrows missed opportunity if someone else takes it serious ahead of you. Can none of you guys see potential in this idea iv spent a good half an hour musing over with a blunt???:tvlaugh:

Theres a great scene in the movie Crossroads where Eugene Martone (Ralph Machio) is being reprimanded by his classical music teacher for "squandering" his talent by playing blues.
