I found this recipe online and wanted to check with those who have done this, if this looks ok? ------------------
I'm not smoking anything that sat in glycerin and in the dark that long. It just sounds bad for the lungs to me.
OS:...3x the amount of the concentrate I took it as...so if you got 1g of concentrate, use 3 grams of oil? Blaze: you only add the vEg oil at the end and shake to mix in. I guess they say pg is not food grade like vg and dont use pg because its bad for the lungs. This is the write up below. My question is the 10-14 days of getting the thc out. Couldnt you just shake it with the alchol and then strain it? Why the 10-14 days? Never heard that before. Alot of homemade brew showing up around my area, I am not sure whos making it with what, so I want to make my own.
Ya 10 to 14 days seems odd. When you make hash oil with grain alcohol you dont let it sit do you? Also they forgot the step of letting the alchohol evaporate out. Ide imagine this step is last, add glycerin with alcohol after straining, shake, then leave open for a while or put the open jar in hot water to evaporate alcohol.
Decarboxylation not needed? And the 2-4 ounce thing seems a little inexact. I've always thought that vegetable glycerine made the fastest-acting and tastiest sweet edibles. Never actually thought about heating it and inhaling it.
Yeah every other recipes call for vg and pg oil mix, i guess there is a food grade pg. I wasnt sure when I seen this is why I wondered if anyone made this way.
I've been trying different things to get some nice oil. I've found, through trial and error, a nice recipe that works for me. VG (Vegetable Glycerine) does add some sweetness but it separates after awhile. The VG also makes "thicker" smoke. I now use PEG 400 USP (Polyethylene Glycol 400 Pharmaceutical Grade, which makes it "food grade" also). I've tried different ratios, 1ml to 1 gram, 1 ml to 1.25 grams, 1ml to 1.5, 1ml to 1.75 and have found that it gets thicker and harder to smoke with no significant difference in high so I went back to 1-1 ratio. Now to my recipe: 1 gram of winterized dab (BHO) 1 ml of PEG 400 I put a small pot of water on the stove and put a small glass of water in the pot. Boil. I put the PEG in a shot glass and put it into the glass. When it gets warm I add the dab and mix it till it is all liquid. I add a few drops of terpenes (to add flavor. I have been getting weed profile terps but there are other flavors, otherwise it has a weird dab taste. ) in to the mix and stir a little more just to make sure it's all mixed well. When there are no more signs of dab I suck it up into a syringe and put it into a glass jar. I let it "cure" for a couple of days (to let the terpenes permeate the mixture). I then take a syringe and load the cartridges and smoke away. The most I've done is 3 grams mixed with 3 ml of PEG at a time and the terps were added at 22 drops. Some terps profiles take more, some less. Trial and error. You have to remember that you can always add more but you can't take the terps away. When having to add more I've had to wait a couple more days to try it again. Hope this helps.
I tried to get a despence syringe at the local walgreens and they treated me like a drug addic. Anyone got a good place to get the pg and vg oil and syringe? Everyone around me wants the vape oil. Its alittle more work but for helping people out its worth it to me. Plus I like it also..
