I ordered a bag of Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil. I'm going to be mixing it with Miracle Grow Organic Choice 50/50. So that I have enough to fill all the 5gal buckets I need.

My thing is, I like the FFOF soil the best, I just can get the MGOC for free. Soooo, my main question is, how much of the Marine Cuisine Fertilizer (10-7-7) should I add to my mix of 50/50 FFOF/MGOC? And of course I'll be making the mix 67% soil, 33% perlite. =D

    Hey Wiz,

I wouldn't add any Marine Cuisine to an MG/FFOF mix. Both the MG Organic Potting and Garden mix have supplemental nutes in them already. If you're going to use it I'd start sans any additives and let the plants tell me when they're hungry. My guess is at 50/50 mix and one third perlite you'll need to start feeding around week 3 or 4.

I'd probably add Thrive or some other mycorrhizal additive during the mix tho since I don't believe the MGOC has any listed as a supplement.

    cheers,
