I started the process today to get my recomendation to use marijuana for my nausea. I have to wait for them to send me a medical release form, then I get my appointment to see their doctor! I have dreamed of this for ten years, and now finally have a tangible start. I plan to update this thread until I get my certification, which Doctors willing, I will have before the months end. I am freaked out by doctors, never go unless its urgent, but just this once..I am excited.:passit:

surely it has been documented but...

Maybe you could document the process heavily and pass it on to others who may be in your situation in the future?

I hope it all goes smoooothly.

I will give it a go. Getting the release mailed to me, but this would only be applicable in Washington State. The laws are a little different everywhere.

So today I got the medical release papers in the mail. Included in the mail was a letter from the company, telling me exactly what was going on, what I needed to do to get my appointment scheduled. First, I had to fill out a medical history release, it says I understand that information being release may contain really personal stuff etc. I went to go get a copy of my records for just this instance, so I am including that and my original release form from the doctor. On the introduction notice, they list the most commen ailments that marijuana is prescribable for, and I have three, so I am very confident. So I had my wife fill out the papers so it was legible, and included copies of my records. Going to overnight it in the morning. They said it can take a week or two to get scheduled. So cross your fingers. The worst that can happen is they will want more doctors visits..will hate that but will endure it. Heres a rub..I could get a 20% discount by paying early..but they only do cash. They do a clinic in my area by appointment..but their main clinic is far, far away..do I really want to send cash in the mail...not that I dont trust them..or whatever I will wait till they call to schedule my appointment, ask if a money order is cool.:passit:

My letter was sent this morning by post, two days for sure and I know when they get the letter. It contains my name as it appears on my license, a copy of my medical record, for the condition/s I am applying for, and the contact information of my medical provider. My wife filled it out all nice and neat, and then proceeded to only put my last name on the return address. When I asked why..she replied "Well, you want to be as discreet as possible, right?" Thats my girl:passit: So I will have confirmation when they recieve the letter online *it was seventy cents extra, why not?*, and expect to hear from the shortly after, either to schedule my visit, or let me know what other steps I need to take. Keep thinking happy thoughts for me.

HAHA michael have fun tryin to get them to come to you... I waited 4 months then finally gave up and just drove to bellevue. if you're in the tri-shitties, then there's no clinic down there and you have to wait. if you're in spokane, there's CBR on green street right next to Spokane Community College. the rest are over in bellevue or seattle.

if you're going to a WA clinic, I suggest Sentry Medical. It's where I got my card, and they've got a better reputation for supporting and defending their patients than the other clinics in WA do. but fair warning... everyone who profits off of MMJ in this area are money grubbing whores and don't care too much about the patients--- so I would rely on not getting caught rather than asking ANY of the clinics to defend you.

one other interesting word. THCF and CBR both prescribe 15 plants. Sentry prescribes "24 dried cured ounces and as many plants as are needed to maintain this 60 day supply". basically, if law enforcement comes for ya they're still gonna bust you if you're growing over, but you probably will not be convicted unless you're being crazy stupid.

further follow-up on sentry can be found at cannacare.org if you're interested in that clinic.

one more thing: you shouldn't have a problem getting your card at any of those places. If you either honestly have or can convincingly fake any one of those "serious or dehabilitating medical issues", or have another issue that is serious enough that marijuana is warranted but is not on that list (i.e. serious anxiety or chronic depression) then you're a shoo-in. they want your $200.

oh and one last SERIOUS word of warning... DO NOT attend or support Spocannabis. a good friend of mine lives right next to the man who runs that dispensary, and long story short, he's rolling on people to keep his business open. he'll sell to anyone with or without a card, but then 6 months later that person's name ends up with LEO. and the prices and quality aren't none too good either.

I plan discretion being my defense rather than having cops calling the doctors. I won't be dicked around, I have nothing better to do with me free time but pursue this at the moment. I do not plan on frequenting any dispensaries, and so far, CBR has been prompt answering phone calls and getting my information in the mail. Two of my friends have used them, so I will at least give it a try. I appreciate the information though.

sweet. really CBR isn't a bad group, I have just been leery of recommending them since their last doctor got busted... like... bigtime. my neighbors got their cards from there and have had no complaints.

btw if I sound a little pompous I apologize... I'm just kinda used to people asking me for advice about MMJ around my neck of the woods. sounds like you got it down... welcome in advance to the medical community!

I am open to all suggesiton, I actually wrote down both the company's you posted, just in case. I especially welcome someone who has their rec. locally, because laws differ so much state to state. I don't do doctors. Hate 'em. I don't poison my body with really bad stuff. And my stupid sheep brain considers most medicines to be poison. I had a really bad experience with muscle relaxors and have a super phobia of most medications now. I smoke daily, and on the insistance of my wife I am trying to get my recomendation. I've got a notepad full of notes, visited the doctor once and got documentation for my problems. I am hoping my research and attention to detail paid off, and this will be done soon.

Crazy man, I was just re-reading the thread, and saw a new response. I have not heard back from the CBR people. They received my package on Thursday the 13th of August, I called on Friday to make sure they had received it..still no word. I included my files I had copied at the doctors, and their release form. So..I contacted another agency that was suggested, and I will see how quickly they get the ball rolling. Not impatiant persay, but if I have options I might as well keep them all open. :passit: Thanks for following along people.
