Hi everyone I thought I'd post up a thread for my new grow. I'll be explaining my set up and my strain choices down below. The strains (shown in pic)Caramelicious (bottom left)Jackberry X KO Kush (bottom right)Lemon Tai (top left)Cotton Candy (top right)-----Now that you know the line up we'll get to the setup. The room is a 6'wide 5'deep 6'high bifold door closet. One door has slits in it for the vents. I fitted the whole opening with panda film and duct tape. Then cut the 2 circles for the exhaust and air inlet. I used all 6" ducting. Okay so I got a 24" ventech carbon filter with prefilter going to a 600watt cool tube with external ballast going to a wall mounted ventech 440cfm 6" inline fan ducted out the top of the vented closet. The air inlet is on the bottom of the vented door ducted in like 4 feet so no light escapes!I then persisted to frame out a easy access door. You Open the right bifold door and reveille the frame. Made out of 2x2 boxed out I then stapled Velcro to the boards and cut a door out of panda liner and placed opposite side Velcro on it and put it on. It's double checked and is totally sealed!!My average temp has been 66-76 light off and 72-82 light. The girls are on there 4th week veg switching to flower in a day or two.My medium is soil. I'm using promix, also mixed in lime, mikos, fish emulsion, bone and blood meal. There all clones so they go from solo cups to 1gal smart pots for 3weeks. Then to a final 3gal smart pot for last week of vegetation and flower. I give them fish fertilizer once a couple weeks in flower and then persist to give them blackstrap molasses every couple waterings until the last 2 weeks or so. So it's a 4 strain closet grow in 3gal smart post under a 600watt cool tube vented by a 440cfm 6" fan MH/veg HPS/flower:5obsessed:So now that you know most of my grow you can persist to help improve or ask me questions. Hope everyone enjoys! :smokin:

Looks interesting I'm curious though, how do you plan to handle the varying finishing times. You've got JBKO which will finish out in 7-8 weeks and the LT that will go an easy 10 weeks or longer.

I'd suggest that before you flower them that you verify your flower chamber is truly light tight. The easiest way to step inside and close the door with the lights out, if you can see your hand in front of your face then you've got leaks. I'm only suggesting this because I'm not sure I understand how you made a louvered bifold closer door vent and be light tight.

Also please upload your pics to GK so that the can be embedded in the posts. When you see full size pics in the threads is because they were embedded. Please don't take this the wrong way but nobody likes having to click on a thumbnail

    Looks good though man!

    Carry on

Next time skip the 1 gal pots too, totally unnecessary in my opinion. I used to do that too but I haven't noticed any downside from going straight to their final 3 gal pots.

:good job: I like it. Nice and tight and simple. Soon you'll be looking to make a veg space somewhere so you can get a jump on your next cycle....

I agree about the pictures btw. If you need help or get stuck PM me. Here's a good tutorial http://forum.growkind.com/showthread.php?t=33546#.Uo_lFhbFYlI

    Thanks guys.

To answer the questions. I ran the room for a week prior buttoned up the light holes and dialed in the temp. Now think of the bifold doors only there for show! The right door is openable and behind it is a frame with panda liner. The left door has slits in it and is fixed to not open with brackets, behind it it has panda liner on the whole opening of the closet I cut 2 holes for the 6" vents which were screwed and taped to the vented door, and now taped up on the panda liner.. I'll take a pic tomorrow so you can see how it's set up.

For the pic I'm sorry first time I just clicked upload pic..

Also yeah lemon and cotton are 10 and the jack and Carmel are 8 so I'll just cut 2 and cut the other 2 should be okay. And the 1 gal pots are a toss up..

And I got no room for a veg room :/

MK with a 5x6 room you have plenty of room to build a small veg box. Something as small as 12"x36"x28" tall will work for cloning and keeping moms. If you root a few cuts about 4 weeks prior to harvest time you'll have semi vegged plants ready for the next round. A rooted clone will be fine in a solo cup for 4 weeks then just pop em in the 3 gal pots put them under them MH for a couple of weeks. See you had the space and didn't know it :)

I should add that a couple of cfl bulbs are all you'll need for light in veg box that size.

Maybe in the future that could be a possibility. I have a way to get rooted clones so I just do 3weeks veg and my flower and presto but yeah I would like to try for the box idea

Man I grew in a 2'Wx8'Lx8'H closet. My veg section is 2'x3'x3.5'H for clones and seedlings. Then a lower 2'x3'x4'H veg area. My flower cab us 2'Wx4'Lx7.5'H... I run a 600w in flower....

I think they look great. NIce looking clean bushy and green. The multiple strain thing is no problem as I have grown at least 6 differant strains in the same area several times. JUst gotta know what your doing.

Yeah Iv done a lot of research and know how they grow. Just the first time growing with this set up but with the help they should be great!

Now I need to figure out what to grow next. Either I grow a all 8 week or a all 10 week grow.. It would be one or 2 of the same strains I'm running now!

Ok so since the wethers been getting colder outside and the bad heating of my upstaires. My temps have dropped a few times to the low 60s so I put a heater in the room to try to battle that. Few of the lower leaves are browning and yellowing none of the tops tho. Also my Carmel has eagles claw and I'm going to flush her.Besides that there doing goodI moved them around so Carmel (top right)Lemon (top left)Cotton (bottom left)Jackberry (bottom right)

It's hard to tell how much of the plant is effected from your pics. Any chance you could edit them so that they're right side up AND EMBED them? If your having plant issues its also helpful to take a few pics under normal light without the HPS burning.

The lower leaves that are yellowing may be from lack if light penetration, I've had that happen when I didn't trim them up enough early in flower. With the mix you're using I doubt they're hungry for N this early on. If you post a few good pics I'm sure someone else will chime in.

The eagle clawing you're seeing on the carms indicates that the mix is a bit too hot for them. If still plan to flush I would make it a light flush so that you don't completely deplete the nutrients from the mix. Chances are once you flush other deficiencies will pop up and you'll have I feed them as needed from that point on.

With regard to the heater even if it had a built in thermostats I suggest you pick up thermostatically controlled outlet. They work much better then the built in one and will keep the temperatures from spiking up and down. A programmable one can be found in Amazon for under $50.

    Cheers
