Hello all I am starting this in hopes of getting good suggestions on how to set up to use a washing machine to extract the glands from my trim and too small buds. I figure wash it then pump off the water through a couple of bubble type bags. Youtube has a video but it doesn't show the full process. 1. I am wondering about if to put the weed directly in the machine or in a 225micron enclosed bag. 2. If I need to modify the pump and or the strainer/cover over the pump. 3. Or if I need to worry about glands not washing out of the veg mat. 4. Or if the glands will settle into the edges of the washtub and not go down the drain. 5. anything else I should think about. I plan on figuring it out and will be making a thread here describing my experience with it. Any help appreciated TY GK
I think you should put the ganja in the larger micron size "work bag" and wash it then as the machine pumps off the water have it pump it through the other bags. You might find that the machine pumps the water faster than it will drain through the finer screens. If that is the case ten you would need a reservoir large enough to hold all the water so you could pour it through at a slower rate. I guess it would just depend on how big your bags are. If you have the big ones made for a trash can they would be plenty big but if you only have the small ones for a 3 gallon bucket then you might need to save the water in a reservoir. Sounds like an interesting idea. I look forward to hearing how it goes.:thumbs-up:
yes the "work bag", I thought it would be best too. but it may rerstrict the glands from extracting. if I lined the washdrum with the 220+material maybe? or no bag just the little holes in the washtub to hold back the largest veg material then the bags to filter it. I need to find a source or a place to buy the material and sew the bigger bags together myself.
so I did some searching for micron mesh screen, I found trhis palce, so far the cheapest for bulk yardage of it. http://www.miami-aquaculture.com/screen.htm anyone know of a cheaper place?
