So I'm going to try my hand at Rockwool in my EnF tables. The consensus is to run RW in a drip system, but I'm pretty sure it can be done in EnF. I decided to try out the 4'' cubes instead of the 6'' purely because of the cost of failure. A 6'' block runs about $4 where 6 4'' runs me $5. Clones are in my new cloners. My question is, how often do I flood and for how long? Now, obviously, I know that a young plant and an old plant have different flood needs. For simplicity, lets say the plant has an established root system in veg. I've been told to flood for 15 minutes, twice a day. I don't plan on running large plants, going with 8-16 plants per 2x4, depending on cloner outcome. Very little veg time, 1-2 weeks tops for 16 plants, 2-3 weeks for 8. Also, any RW tips would be greatly appreciated.
You sound like you have the right info, I would only do twice a day and always only 15 min. But watch the plants when older and you may have to do 3 times
Just going to keep this thread going with this grow. So I planted 14 clones into 4x4 cubes that were soaked overnight at 5.5 pH. I want to separate them into 2 tables before flipping. I've got 7 BWxLB, 6 White Lightening and 1 Jokers Wild. The cubes are saturated so I probably wont feed until tomorrow. I was told to leave the plastic off the tables in veg so I can move them without tangled roots. They were cloned in aero cloners and I just put RR plugs around the stems to cover the hole in the cubes.
Please keep posting this grow, I have not done tables but am intrested in how they will turn out. Also is the BWxLB black widdow x lemon berry?
I'll update at any issues through veg and I'll try to keep it up weekly through flower. Blue Widow x Lemon Berry
Ok so I learned something important in the first week. When you put the clones in the cubes, they NEED to be fed from the top. Perfect green clones went in and I ended up with issues feeding, until the roots popped out the bottom of the cubes. Been feeding every other day and we're on track now. About ready to flower already, but we're spreading into 2 tables.
5 Days later, separated into 2 tables by strain. I'm covering the tables tonight and thinking about flipping in a week. Edit: Not a bad showing for 17 days from cube. BW x LB. I'm going to call her Titty Twister. White Lightening and the last showing of Jokers Wild.
Thanks, RR. Once I run out of 4in cubes, I'm going to switch to 6in. I've got what I want out of a 3 week veg and I think I'm ready to finally get this shit going right. My water schedule is going to be top feed every other day for the first week of veg and then they'll be ready to feed from bottom. In flower I'm going to feed once a day. Hopefully I won't have any over watering issues.
Here they are 4 days into 12/12. I think I may have vegged the WL table too long. Nets are going up tomorrow. I'm still trying to get the feed and pH right. Seems like the Rockwool is a little more sensitive than growstones. Plus, admittedly, I've been working a lot so I haven't kept a daily eye on it.
Ok so here they are at 10 days in 12/12. They're not perfect, and I'm not really sure what's wrong. I've never been great at plant diagnosis. I think I need to up my base nutes as I mix at 80%. Next round starting to show roots.
I used to do the same setup...the last few times I used rockwool the stems ended up getting rot at the base cuz the blocks stay wet for such a long period of time. Just my 2 cents, keep an eye out my man! Kickin ass faygo boyyyy!!!!asssit:
Subscribed for sure. Been in soil for years but I'm about to set up my first flood and drain. It looks like you are having great results!
