You guys that know me, know that one issue that I had that really lasted and stayed with me was the problem of when adding Botanicare, or Metanaturals or whatever to my water the pH would drop ridiculously. My well water that's 5.3-5.5 would drop to 3.8ish, I could let it sit of course, and stir it over a few days and it would come back up some. I just never really got a straight on, no guessing answer as to what to do. If I have 6.5 pH adjusted water for my soil plants, and I mix in the amount of nutrients I want, do I or do I NOT re-adjust the pH of the mix after a couple of days to make it 6.5 again? >>!!>>!! SO !!
acid or alkaline depends on the water acidic is better than the other cause the alkaline stays and builds up causing an unstable ph later check out the ph manifesto on the growers underground . i use organic s but if i ever go hydro ill stay with advanced nutrients it works in soil great and you dont need to worry about ph if you start with good water they are about the only nutrient company that has reserched cannabis by taking tissue samples so they know what the plant needs after 10 plus years of r&d testing and growing cannabis for nutrients development i think they got it now organics are hard to do right and i think i got it down i have as good of a product and yield as my few in our group and they use A NUTES thiers is some potent stuff and not harsh i just save money and prefer to let nature take its course:thumbs-up:
Thanks guys. I meant to throw in, that I started using some of the water that the big stores sell, like Walmart. It tests out at only 11 ppm, and I think right at 7.0pH. So it's not loaded with any extras. I was really leaning towards Advanced Nutrients or General Hydroponics(I use their pH up and down anyway) before this thread. NOw I feel more comfortable. =)
not the general i would use the advanced nutrients system the general is for general types of plants advanced is made for growing weed :thumbs-up:
Actually King.. lol I have done side by side tests of AN and GH with no additives. results were similar. AN is just expensive...Plus, if you use all the additives that AN calls for, on a 100 gallon ressy through a total crop cycle (4 weeks veg, 8 weeks flower) the cost is near $1000. GH cost for the same thing, about $120. Comparison was done back between '01-'04 when I was testing different nutrients for my friends company. Wanna do a grow off? lol Bet my GH formula outperforms your AN with only a bloom booster, and is easily on par using all their additives. Oh, BTW, if you think GH isn't geared towards MJ, you are fooling yourself. GH is from the Emerald triangle. You know, the weed capital of the world? They just don't advertise it as MJ specific like AN does. No offense of course dude. We simply have differing opinions. Everyone has a fert brand they prefer. But the proof is in the pudding, and I ate that pudding a while back. lol Cheers dude! asssit:
i'm using the GH 3part series with a shot of kool bloom during week 5 flower, and using a slightly altered version of Useless' formula.. i can say it's been workin like a effin champ my past 2 grows! GH seems to be doin a damn fine job in my eyes.. it helps having good water, and dialed in ph levels/nutrients, for sure! my past grow.. 8 flowering plants produced 19oz of dried Big Bud and White Widow. I can't say i'm willing to spend hundreds more per grow on nutrients to upgrade from the results i'm seeing now.. i mean i noticed a drastic change in results from my 1st grow to my 2nd grow, but i contribute that to gaining more knowledge with the help of GK thumbs-up and better application of my technique, not necessarily using any different nutrients. perhaps one day i'll give AN a shot, for now...GH is helping me produce some really crucial nugz! good luck man! asssit:
