Ph testin in a mf\'n ghetto

yep. i finally caught up wit my digicam. my so called pal stole it, then pawned it. he been sellin hard lately and i think he dippin in his ****... anywayz.....

i grabbed this ph testin kit. it test 4 phlevel N P and K. u gotta shake them pillz and mix it wit durt. i tried it wit my compost 4 ph level. u gotta read da damn colors or sum ****. it wuz green. then i tested sum blackgold. da same color. itz a milky green. da thing sayz slightly acidic.

i dont like this ghetto ass ph tester. has any1 tried this thing? should i add sum lime 2 da durt? da instructions say add lime if itz acidic.
yeah and gimme sum linkz 2 a spot dat sellz ph testerz 4 a cheap price. this 1 wuz 15 bux. i will not spend mo than 30. i can still return this 1. thx.

you can buy a digital Hanna PH tester off ebay of $25 or go to wal-mart, lowes, home deopot and they sale the stick kind for $15 that will wotk too, I never checked the ph with one of those kits so I dont know. You can get some dolomite at a garden center to get a netural PH for your soil.

Yes, 3 types that I have found or seen


1 - strait up PH tester


2 - PH tester with a light meter


3 - PH tester with soil moister meter


They might be hard to find at Home Depote, Lowes due to being so late in the season

well i did a search and found sum ph testers. i also seen da 1 i got on ebay for 50 cents more than wut i paid.





i'll just stick wit this 1. now i just need lime. i seen this **** called "ph up" and 'ph down' itz supposed 2 easily adjust ph. anybody use dat ****? i dunno wut 2 get.

Jiggy I have used both and frankly don't like them. Here where i am now I have water with very low PH and the ferts i use only dropped it more. I added the PH up and it fucked my plants up to be honest. I could see the stuff seperate the ferts in the water too....like oil and water mixing. I think the best bet is to go with the lime that way you have a PH buffer in your soil....that's going to be my route soon too. it's too much of a pain to mess with PH if you don't have to.

well i've been readin & **** and i wuz wonderin. i already got eggshellz in sum compost and i read lime got cal and mg in it. will this make 2 much cal in my soil? my q iz will it burn da plant? so far i heard ph up, lime, & wood ashes can get ph up. i already got ashes in my compost also. today i'm doin a npk test usin dat kit i got. i predict n levelz shuld b suffient bcuz i got meals in it and otha ****. and beleive me when i say otha **** . i wonder if i shuld use da compost or just portionz of it mixed wit bgold? i still havent gotten da flourlike lime yet. i'm gonna chk out da nursery which aint 2 far from here or make a trip 2 da hydrostore. i hate dat hydrosto bcuz dat guy who ownz it got thoz high ass prices. could i just get sum epsom salt for mg and add mo ashes? i hope i dont have too much cal.

jiggy, i use pH up and pH down when needed in my hydro grows. i'm glad you've gotten interested enough to do all this research!

 

ok i tested my water wit sum dropper ph thing and it turned up green. i also bought a lil ph up. i got liquid lime also. i just got sum new durt yesterday called sunshine organic soil. heard of it? itz already got dolomite lime in it. so i think i got ph unda control.

well as it stands this iz wut i know. ph + or - iz for water, but u gotta test it 1st. and i dunno if i'm right but i guess so bcuz pappy said it, itz easier 2 go wit lime in da soil.


i heard dat this liquid lime iz slow release. i added it (mix it wit sum water) 2 da compost 2 'marinate' 4 awhile. but how long b4 u can use it or it starts wurkin? does any1 know? if u give it 2 a plant datz already in da durt, how long does it take? i decided not 2 get epsom salt.
