I will soon be harvesting my buds. I plan on curing most of them, but was wondering if you can smoke some of the fresh bud right after you cut it off the stalk. Do fresh buds have any effect?
You will have to dry it before you can smoke it. Flash dried bud tastes like shit, but it will give you some idea about how good your harvest will be.
Nah man. That'd be horrible. You need to dry your bud first. Hang dry it for a ~week, then put it in brown paper sacs. YOU CAN speed dry the bud in the oven, @170. But I did it for 6 grams of wet bud, and I honestly tell you, it wasn't even worth it for that much, wait till it's dried and started curing - you'll be thankful.
This has been a subject of much conversation around my household. We are not sure if but MUST be cured before it can be smoked. Here's what we came up with: We will have to wail till it dries. Then we can begin to cure most of it while we set some aside for our 'daily' smoke until while the other bud cures. Once our 'set aside' bud is depleted we can start with the cured bud. If everything is working properly we will get to sample our harvest at different lengths of curing time. Is this correct?
Cured!!! Well what ive learned over the past year or so in GK that curing can make a hrsh smoke turn out very very smooth in the end up so nicely... But in the other hand, hang drying your BUD then smoking it(as long as the clorophil is broke down) absautley FINE!!! And anyone else that says that you cant realy appreciate the smoke at that stage is talking bollox , as i personally dont think curing is NEEDED, although i do it myself.....lmao Yea , im saying that curing is NOT neccessary at all, but is ALWAYS a much smoother smoke, and Can, increase potency somewhat, when cured properly!!! Just remember that you won't know the full ptoential of your smoke until it's dried and cured. Pick and smoke is not going to get you very high unless your plant is just a ridiculous producer of trichs which some are... but trust me just keep buying your weed till your shit is cured.
Proper drying & curing IS a must for better taste & quality..IMO..however, we use a vaporizer to enjoy our smoky treats, and we have often picked a small bud right off the plant, chopped it up & vaporized it right away with no problems & got an excellent buzz. It does still taste slightly "green", though, and as many have said before...it's just better all around to have patience and give the treats time to dry & cure properly!
I have noticed that after 5-6 days of drying and about another 7 days or so of curing the buds are VERY smokeable. They will only get better, smoother, with more curing, though.
Yep! I TOTALLY agree there with Mr Wakenbake himself, as that is true, and thats why i DO use the curing method myself now, and everyday/the longer i cure for, i find my harvest(after taking a bud out the Jars im curing in each day, to smoke on), the better /more potent they seem to get, each day of curing, so it IS well worth it. But you really dont need to do this to enjoy your weed,as long as the clorophil is all desintegrated away offf of your buds...(in a hang dry method, this will happen!) But then and as Mr wakenbake says, "The curing method is the way to tell the true potential of your smoke youve just harvested"!!! Peace Out, UrBigBuddie.......... :laughing5:
