sorry I'd realized i'd missed the security 101 section... i'll go through that and then try again on the security part. basically I'm trying to get the supplies together to start a tomato garden indoors. my MMJ card idea fell through, as my current doctor does not approve of its use in a medical setting... so now I've got to plan for it with no legal protection. that means making it only large enough to supply my needs. any suggestions on floorspace? I can probably get a 2 bedroom apartment if needed and put all this in the spare, but that will have to wait and see. basically i need to produce about a QP per month in order to cover my own needs, extra isn't really necessary.
I would never grow in a rented space! Landlord says I gotta check the , and lets himself in and :car8: Some states have rules about entry by the landlord but I think the cops would come up with a story. I just wouldn't do it.
thats not very reassuring... I've never heard of really anyone I know having their apartment opened by a landlord for any reason. its possible that its illegal in my area. but basically, if i wanna do it i gotta do it in a rented space. I'll be in a college town, in college student apartments, and I'm trying to get in to one of the noisier, bigger party areas so I can look better and less suspicious by comparison. do yall think that even that precaution is too little? and I just read the security section. I'm gonna have 2 air ionizers going, but I'd still like more input on how to stay safe. I use very little electricity and won't be trying to bust out pounds, so I should be fine by that measure. however, i'm still a little sketched. last part (that i deleted till i read the security section), I was and still am trying for a MMJ recommendation, however my primary care doctor just talked with me today and said that due to the well documented negative long term effects of marijuana use, she did not feel comfortable with recommending it for treatment. my friends know I was trying to get a card... and probably made the leap of intuition that I also wanted to grow my own. any ideas on how to put them off the trail in case I have to do it without any legal protection?
If I just had to grow in a rented space I would just change the lock on the door to the room you wanna grow it in. Generally a landlord isn't just gonna come in and check all through your place unless there is a problem. Keep it clean and good smelling and you won't have a problem. Regarding your friends And yes, just tell them your not gonna be able to, and never mention it again. You can't introduce the pot to them under any circumstances, that includes even toking up with them with your own. Certainly when someone sees some good homegrown they will be quite inquisitive about aquiring themselves some. Then you have to start and it just all turns south.
Rented Spaces I had a friend, A few years back that was renting a small apartment in our little town in PA. He made sure to always lock his door when he went out. He went out one day and when he returned his door was unlocked. He was freaked out about it all day, bc he knew he had locked it. The next day his landlord was around his building. He happened to run into him. The landlord told him he had complaints of other renters smelling pot smoke so he went into his apartment to "look around". He also commented that he had a NICE BONG. My buddy says his bong was in the dishwasher, as it had just went through a wash cycle. His stash was locked up in a toolbox in his bedroom, so the LL wasnt able to find that. So the LL basically broke into his apartment and routed through his shit for no reason. I told him I thought that was totally fucked up and uncalled for. He thought it was very odd as well.. I dont think anything ever became of it. But that just goes to show u, that u cant always trust your landlord not to come in. They do have a spare key, and if they have suspicions your doing something illegal, they wont hesitate to investigate. It is there building, after all. Im not real sure if its illegal or not, but my buddy didnt make a stink about it, bc at that point the Landlord had dirt on him. So I cant say whether its a good idea or not to grow in a rented space. I know ppl that have rented a apartment solely for growing in. They lived in a seperate dwelling, and only visited the apartment to tend to the plants. Oneday they came out to check on there plants and the police were there hauling out all his plants and equipment in garbage bags. He left the state and hasnt been back since. Just some of my stories about growing in rented spaces. Hope it was informative.. GFAM
It's a game of chance the tables can be turned with lowering probability. I live in a duplex my landlord lives below me. She knows i smoke weed and could care less. So she really doesn't question the smell of pot. I keep the air pretty clean but when the cab doors are open the smell goes everywhere for a while. Moral of the story is get a cool landlord and do what you do... DSP
Well first off I am should you could find a doctor that is more inclined to prescribe mmj. Seems like your doc is a little old school. I would first try another doc and then you wont have to worry about.
Odor control will absolutely be a factor. And dont think that just by keeping the door locked you'll be good to go. Shit happens. Moron neighbors pass out drunk with the something on the stove and damn near burn down the building then cops and firemen evacuate and investigate... parties get busted up... people break in... you just don't have enough control of the immediate environment. I grew in an apartment once and I consider myself damned lucky to not have gotten caught! Long story short, look into a guerrilla grow. Outdoors next year, depending on where you are on earth.
