Hey guys I used to hang around this site and get growing tips a few years ago (hopefully Agroguy is banned by now) anyways I've done a few good grows, but Its been quite awhile since my last one.

Im having a problem with my seedlings, there leaves are drooping, (there only 1 week or so old) Curling under and when they reach about 3 inchs tall turn yellow and die. Now I thought it was the damn miracle grow soil I was forced to buy for lack of anything better around, but I finally got ahold of some soil without ferts and its starting all over again.

2 Things are sticking out in my mind, over watering, or lights are to close....I have been watering them every 2 days ( I honestly can't remember how to water anymore lol)

Im using a T5 floresent about 6 inch from the top of the plants, (I've used this before with great results in the early stages then switched to my 400w hps)

Any thoughts? and also Im using 3 blue spec blubs and 1 red in my T5 should I go all blue for now?

mr.anonymous What to grow next is hard

I would also say over watering for dirt, I didn't even water my hempy solo cups that much.

After the initial soaking when you plant the sprouted seed, you just got to wait and let the pot dry out before you water again. Maybe a tablespoon or 2 near the base of the sprout if you feel the soil is fairly dryed out at the top, but you just got to let it do its thing like you used to.

Doubt its light unless you got an HPS right on them already. the flouros can be close as hell it you got the air circulation for it.

Also doubt its a miracle grow issue. I use miracle grow soil for everything from pot to my cooking herbs since I'm cheap and it works just fine. Got some nice plants growing in the miracle grow moisture control soil w/ micrle grow organic fert added right now and they are looking great, 4 with 5 nodes or so, and 5 seedlings that that popped up a couple days ago.

It was over watering, I've stoped watering and there looking better everyday. :D And as for the lights come to think of it I never had the T5's burn my plants unless they actually touched the bulbs.

about the miracle grow I just have never been able to use it without it burning my plants, but Im not very good with chem fertz and I tend to stick with Fox farm organic stuff.

BTW If could anyone recommend a good soil without fertz? My local stores don't have the stuff I used to use, It looks like im going to have find something else.

and Thank you guys for the help I'll stick around cause Im sure I'll need more along the way considering I couldn't even remember how to water my plants lol.

    I would say try hempy.

4 scoops perlite to one scoop vermeculite.

If you're going to go soil.

I would suggest Fox Farms Ocean Forest mix.

You can get if off ebay for ~37.00 a bag, FREE shipping. That sounds like alot. But alot of sites sell it for ~19-22$ with ~17-30$ shipping.

I'd say go to planetnatural.com, and see how much a bag of it will cost with shipping(they have a calculator based on your location), if it's more than 37.00, get it off ebay.

That soil is bad F'ing ass. When you get it, mix 2-2.5 scoops of soil to every 1 scoop of perlite. It helps alot, and it makes the soil stretch out for more pots, and you get more money's worth. You could even do what I've done in the pasat and add some organic compost to it.

What worked great for me was 55% fox farms, 5% humus, 7.5%compost, 32.5% perlite.

My buddy who used just straight fox farms, no additions, got about half as many pots out of the bag, and less yield per plant, it clumped up and was hard for the roots to grow through.
