I have 5 girls in solo cup hempys right now. My situation is complicated right now and I can't really have a dedicated room in the basement. Normally I would do dwc or ebb flow tables. I'm tearing this apart and putting back together often for peace of mind. I'm thinking about maybe just some soil , but I have never done soil. So basically I will let them veg through summer to keep them alive . Don't know for how long or anything.figure 5 gallon bucket size. Soil I can just throw outside. Fill me In , at this point t their ready for a 1 gallon bucket. What do I do.
I use Promix Bx. It has perlite in it for aeration plus beneficial fungi. I have good success with it. If you can't get that then get you a bag of quality potting soil . I would stay away from the shit that has time release nutes in it like Miracle-Gro. And Resin has a good organic soil mix that he makes up if you want to mix your own. Hope this helps. BBTasssit:
Thx BBT , so just transplant into the soil (that I can find at home depot?) And water? Do I ph balance water? I'd do that mix you use if it's all ready. I don't want to get deep into it and mix my own.
^^^^ What he said!! I've used the Pro-mix for years and love it. Its neutral so you can use the same nutes as you use in everything else. Just less, I use somewhere around 60 to 75% of the hydro levels. It has great Ph buffers to. Good luck!! Be Cool, CG
CG pretty well summed up the rest. I use hydro nutes as well and shoot for around 12-1600 ppm ( 3 tsp ea plus cal mag ) every third feeding. I do ph my water and nutes to 6.5- 6.7 as well. So. Good luck.
Thx guys. I know soil has nutes in it , do I wait for signs of deffency before I feed nute water? Do I water plain water until then?
You can start light feedings 7 days after transplant. Then just watch them just as you would in hydro. I haven't grown a strain yet that didn't like a little extra cal-mag plus with the nutes.
I hear you with the Cal-Mag plus!!:thumbs-up: I think too many people wait until they see a problem to start using it. Helps keep away the yellowing from an Iron deficiency too. Be Cool, CG
