Well that depends. What is the desired effect? Are you simply sexing or are you planning to bud the plants out? If you just want to sex then by all means go ahead, but if you plan to bud them then I would suggest against it. While you CAN do it...you will be losing out on potency and yeild because the plant is not yet sexually mature. Wait for the plant to show alternating nodes as that is the sign she is mature and ready to bud. ;)

well im just hoping if i do let them grow till the leaves start to alternate that my plants will get to tall. i only have about 4 ft of vertical space for them, and i do plan on budding them. there all about 1' high now i know they can double or triple in size. about how long does it take for them to start alternating usually? 4 or 5 weeks maybe?

  4. plants double and sometimes triple in size during flowering....use that as a guide.

If your worried about vertical height its time to look into some sort of training. Do a searh on JOG, TRAINING, and TOPPING

yea ive heard of people doing that with there clones and stuff and wasnt sure if its the same when you start them as seedlings. it seems like there just too tall to jog them but im not sure

I would cut the top 4" off.

This will encourage horizontal growth and limit height.

Topping a plant will promote horizontal growth, but training can do the same thing without losing that main stem and cola. Just bend the branches little amounts each day; pin/tie them back or down with wire, fishing string, yarn, clothes pins, etc.

It is best to train before you start inducing flowering though, as the plant will be slow to show sex.

yea i think ill try tying them down, but it still seems like they are way to far to tie them down.cause there about 6" or so from the soil, but ill try anyways.
