Trim or not to trim - before hanging? Just curious what you all have to say about this. I have a few ideas about it, but I want to hear some others. Thanks. I know it's terrible trimming your plants after they've dried, but honestly I don't have that much trouble with it. Yet, I still trim when they're wet.
I definitely trim while wet. I tried leaving all the bud leaves on for the cure once, but I didn't like the outcome. :bgolfer:
dry?? the leaves stick out for cutting easier before drying. Doing them wet is a hell of a lot of work I would not want to try it dry. teamster6
You can usually tell if someone has trimmed before or after the drying process. There will be fan leaves that kind of cradle the calyxes that, as a grower, you can tell would have been trimmed off after the chop but didn't because they hung it and they are now dried and curled up on the buds and too close to try manicuring any further. Kinda like this although this guy did it worse than I've normally seen.
I've read that for the 1st few days of drying to keep the leaves on since the plant isn't dead yet and it will still go through all of its normal functions, including respiration n shit.
I trimm them when wet. There is circulation of fluids and so forth but they are not growing. It just takes longer for them to dry and then a pain in the ass to trimm if ya leave leaves on.
I have trimmed when wet only, but I have to say....if it's frosty, I leave it to be smoked. Those pics you posted Skunky looked pretty well covered, or maybe I'm just seeing FUZZZZZZ on everything;;;;; assit: If I had a bud with frosty leaves, I'd trim them at the frost line no matter if it was just the very tip of the leaf that didn't have tricomes. Then I'd hang em...
I trim when wet too, just seems much easier to me. Its kinda painful to have to cut off crystal covered leaves. I do it anyways and keep the frosty trim separate, in case I wanna make space cakes....or for a dry day when you have nothing to smoke.
