Ultra Violet Shield

    A freind of mine gave me 2 100w. MH bulbs. They are from Venture Lighting. Anyway, the light is called a 100watt uv shield. I checked the facts on the website and they say that this bulb has a built in shield to block 80-85% of all ultra violet rays.
    Is this good for growing MJ at least in veg stage? Or does MJ need the the UV rays too. I have very small closet, only 18in sq. X 4 ft tall. Got a 150hps in there right now for first flowering attempt and all is well. So if i can use these bulbs, 2-100watt MH for my next crops' veg cycle, then I just saved me some cash on the bulbs. cool huh. Just a couple of ballasts and fixtures and I'm all set.

    A. pot needs UV light.


    B. used bulbs are worth a few bux. The main expense in in the ballasts.

    Thanks Ranger. These bulbs are brand new, in the box, from his work. They use them for security lighting above entry doors.


    But anyway, if they will not produce the light I need to veg under, then Ill just continue with my floro setup. Thank you again Ranger
