http://www.wakarusa.com/ please go to the website and read around! It's being held Mulberry Moutain Lodging and Events, Ozark Arkansas These kind of events are me and my wife's favourite activity! Echo Project, Langerado, Rothburry, all of them. We are going to wakarusa for our main festival this year. If anyone else is interested in going, GO! We can meet up on Thursday ~10 miles from the event, and go into as a group. Even if you don't meet up with us, it won't be hard to find us, we take a couple of very distinguished baloons and have them f very high, so you can find the camp site very easily. You have to meet up first so that you go in a line one car after another so that you can camp as a group. We'll be taking tons of water, drinks[yes alcohol too], food and a canopy that fits plenty of chairs under it. For those of you who don't know much about this kind of thing. It's a 4 day 'jam band' festival. Full of people walking around with their backpacks selling everything from LSD to funky weed. We're going to work a few ounces our self to pay for the trip and some. There is almost 0 police presence, they are there at the gates or just sitting around to help someone in case of an emergency. I'm sure most of you have heard about bonnaroo; it's like that. It's like taking a magical land that has legalized everything and transplanting it in the U.S. for 4 fun filled days. Though that is not really the reason we go, we are music lovers, and love to dance crazy and have a great time. It's just a great bonus to be able to walk throughout the thousands and thousands of people and enjoy all they have to offer. The last year I went to bonnaroo, there were 95,000+ people. I'm not sure how many will be at wakarusa, but considering that Langerado is canceled I wouldn't be suprised to see 50,000+. They do have a quickie search when you go through the gates, ask for any glass containers, do a really really mild lookover to make sure you're not hiding anyone under stuff to sneak in, or bringing in nitrous tanks(even though they always get in!). The people doing the searching are volunteers anyway, they did it so they could get free tickets. They don't give a shit. I know it sounds too good to be true, but I've been doing the festival thing for 7 years, and it is THAT good.
Sounds like a great time. I use to go motorcycle riding up in the Ozarks all the time when I lived in Texas. It's beautiful up there. I miss it. Wish I could go. Have fun
