Wats up GKers? I finally got around to taking some pics and figured I might as well start a growlog. This is my first time trying a vertical style of growing and so far the results are turning out nicely. 10 fem. white russian beauties from serious seeds are surrounding a 1000w hps. All the girls are in 3 gal of coco coir and get handwatered usually every other day. Some of the pots are raised to even up the canopy, but they mostly range 4-5 feet tall. I'm finally starting to see some quick bud development now as the ladies are around 30 of flower. Oh, and they REEK of dank goodness! There's some big fat supercropped stems and some of the lower fan leaves in veg measured over 15 inches! In the last pic you can see the 3 gallon pots sitting ontop of 5 gallon buckets. I have wire running through the tops of the buckets to hold the plants and wire cages support the lower halves of the plants.
Nice looking bushes! :good job: They look happy and healthy. That vertical lighting always trips me out, but it sure seems to work pretty well. Thanks for sharing your setup. asssit:
Thanks rasganjah. The light took some getting used to, but it's working good now and the heat seems to rise from the bulb quicker. I try not to go in the room at all when that bright mofo lights up!
quick update. Lots of bud sites are filling out nicely and resin production has taken over. I've been trying to rotate the plants as much as possible but they have gotten bushy which has shaded some of the branches more than I'd like. The plants have started handling frequent watering better so I've started watering them each around a gallon per day. I'm hoping to let these go another 5 weeks.
Time for another update, the buds are starting to form fat calyx all over and they shine with trichomes. The growroom is smelling better everyday it seems like, and some of the plants smell sweet, but most have a strong skunk odor. I dumped the buckets tonight and noticed a few signs of heat stress on some leaves and slight mineral buildup. Now I'm gonna start using plain ph'd water and see how things go.
Dizamn!!! Even the big fan leaves are frosty!!! :good job: :not-worthy: :not-worthy: I still think the vertical lighting is trippy but obviously effective, those are some fat healthy bushes for sure! Well done Towilee! :thumbs-up: asssit:
another update Some more pics...the buds are covered in frost. I'm gonna harvest in about 11-12 days. The first pic is of the most sativa dom. plant. Second pic is the branch that will most likely get chopped this weekend.
