I've been seeing this stuff in the liquid fertilizer section of the local shops for a long time now and never knew what it was. Finally, I looked it up and it's Wood Vinegar, a byproduct of charcoal making. According to some sites I found it's supposed to be very good for plants and some sites even say it has health benefits for people. With all the things it's supposed to do, I'm a little skeptical, but we'll see. I started using it yesterday with the regular waterings. I will also be using it for my next outdoor grow as a foliar spray as it's supposed to be great for pest control and mold killing/prevention. Anybody use it before? Here's a link that talks about it. Please read and tell me what you think. http://www.agrowingculture.org/2011/04/the-use-of-wood-vinegar-in-reducing-the-dependence-on-agro-chemicals/
Never heard of it until now, but after reading the info at your link, it sounds interesting. I also found this lengthy paper concerning wood vinegar use in agriculture. http://www.benthamscience.com/open/toasj/articles/V004/SI0085TOASJ/111TOASJ.pdf I'll be looking into this more closely and I may order some to try myself. :good job:
Never heard of it before. After reading a little bit it looks like it could be a good alternative PH up in organic gardens. Gonna get me some and give it a try. Nice heads up Hank.:thumbs-up:
