So yesterday was my 42. I was driving to a job interview (today is 4 weeks i've been laid off) when I ran over something and blew a tire. So I put the spare on and it was almost flat, limped it a few miles down the freeway pulled into to tire station for some air. As the guy was airing it up telling me it was no good POW the freakin spare blew. So I back out went down a couple of parkin lots and found one that was empty and pulled in there to come up with a plan. I didn't have a dime for a tire, rememberd about a few tires in the garage that were still on the rim holding air so I had my wife grab one and bring it. I was about 30 miles from the house, she was about out of gas when she got there, of course the damn rim wouldn't fit this car. The tire shop I pulled into wanted 25 bucks to put the good tire on the right rim, didn't have that much. So I had to drive back home and ask my mechanic if he would let me pay him later, he was cool about it, charged10 bucks. Man I had to borrow money from my 16 year old daughter for gas to get back out there to get the car home. All that bs took about 6 hours, I had to reschedule the interview for today ( got the job by the way). Any way got back to our side of town in rush our traffic to pick my daughter up from work and thats where the day started lookin up. she had me a big sonic blast with every kinda candy they had crushed up on it, and then took me out to dinner. I love how just being around your family after a super bad day can turn it around and end up with a nice evening.
Silver linings Tex. Look hard enough and you'll find one. Great outlook on life too bro. Congrats on the job (nice b-day present). toast to your 42nd:anibong:
We have a sayin in Tronville. We have been through a lot in this life, and through it all we are yet a pumpin air, as long as we are pumpin air there is a chance for it to get better - Keep on a pumpin air - good days are a comin !!! Better yet - We believe it just sounds like life to US sums it up nicely
Happy Belated, Tx. Even when shit just sucks, it will change. That's the cool thing about life, it just keeps on going, changing, living. Those neverending shitty experiences are at least good for one thing - a great story later on!!! GTWT :XXhippylove:
Yeah its all good. I have a excelent family and home life. Life just kicks the shit out of ya every now and then. I keep positive people as friends, thats what I like about this site. A lot of positive vibes goin on around here. The mods keep it that way from what i've seen and thats cool. Thanks for the well wishes and kind words y'all. Tron thats good song, I liked it the first time I heard it, seein the video was cool. Thats a TEXAS boy singin that shit! Texas music is the shit, I don't care much for the radio country(Nashville sucks).
There's always an upside on a down day if you're open to it... even if it's nothing more than knowing you're in the middle of a character building exercise and that you'll have a reason to remember your 42nd birthday. Sounds like a happy ending to your day. And to you sticky bud... I couldn't help but notice the Bruins logo. Pretty exciting moment for Boston fans for sure. Kind of sucked for us poor Canucks fans though. Oh well... another bad day for us, but there would have been a silver lining as well I'm sure.
