Use everclear, it will strip all of the THC out of your left overs. It will also made your oil a very sweet.
Xylene? WTF you gonna do with drums of xylene? It's pretty nasty stuff. I'd stay away from it as a solvent for hash making. Put it right up there with paint thinner as a do not use for hash. Hexane Butane Isopropyl high proof grain alcohol That's pretty much it for solvents I trust. cheers

Butane is really the only way to go when making oil. For just making hash I would stick with ISO or water. What the hell was this guy doing with drums of Xylene? Using it as a paint thinner or cleaning dirty steel? I would find somewhere to dispose of that shit. And I don't mean just dumping it and fucking up the land but finding a place that handles chemical waste. Stuff can really mess up your PNS, liver and kidneys. But if you are alright with possibly losing some motor function, not being able to metabolize things, inability to maintain a proper blood sugar level, or effectively filter your blood stream more power to ya.
Yes you can make oil with it, but it is better to purify oil. While it is still dissolved in alcohol add 1/3 xylene and 1/3 water. Shake it up and let it separate into layers. Save the xylene layer and discard the rest. Evaporate the xylene and you will be left with pure oil. I LOVE EROWID.ORG!!!!!!! Been visiting there long time lotsa good info...but, I still wouldn't use xylene. I've had stuff not come off...n used xylene as a 3rd choice. I'm not saying it isn't ok, but I wouldn't smoke something I knew touched that shit, much less was soaking in it. Just my .02
