  • Brittle Leaves?

I'm at day 50 12/12 so just about done with it, but have noticed a large amount of brittle leaves...they look otherwise relatively healthy....haven't really noticed this before.

leaves are crispy and easily crush to powder around the edges and tips...

    WTF is going on here?

Sounds like fert burn. It could be necrotic spots, it could be a phos or pot problem but since its the edges and tips of the leaves sounds like fert burn, got any pics?

Hmm what are the temps and humidity like, could be really low humidty drying the leaves out, possibly anyway. That is weird if they don't look burnt or discolored.

The affected leaves are from top to middle of the plants....too far down to be from light burn....plus, none of the hairs show the least bit of burning.

I just fed for the last time yesterday.

this is the closest I have of a foto....maybe you can see a slight curvature around the edges of the fans.....shit just crisps right off into my hand

it'se burn from the lights man,, it's happening to my tallest WW where the leaves look healthy till you touch them and they crisp out in your hands.. i just think the reflector is too close or the light is too intense for them right there and it's crispin your leaves... what's happening is that the leaves are drying out or dehydrating from too intense light ...Because those plants are healthy as hell man...

i just think the lower humidity and the high intensity light so close is what's causing it .. cause that's what's happened to the top of my WW.. but i may be wrong..the rest of the plant from about 1/4 of the way down from the top is fine.. just the top to mid top is affected.

That's kind of what I was tossing around as an idea....my bulb is only 6 or 8 inches from buds in some places (400watt) but I was confused because just thinking that the hairs would also exhibit some signs of burning which they have not

well, if you have a low humidity then that DEFFINATELY the problem..... i would get a humidifier in the room or start misting them some....and no it wont cause bud mold if the humidity is low in the room

After some thought, probably light burn and nute burn are both resposible.

I do a lot of foilar feeding...I'm thinking that residue on the leaves is what hilighted the issue.....I'll do a better job of misting them with clear water after the foilar apps in the future

                        tempz

you said that your temperature is at around 85 degrees... that's too hot, man. especially for the top part of the plant, closest to the light. ideal temperature is at 75-ish

                            tHANKS....

yeah, I agree...the BUDS are beautiful....that's why I'm so puzzled by the brittle leaves.

I did take some advice and did some misting....it definitely improved the appearance of the leaves

                            some more pics.....

nahh, too hot is 100 degrees or more.....85 is fine. plants will strech a lil more but minimally. nothing to fret over
