i have been useing my diy aero cloner now for a while and have had 100% take root but they take forever, 2 to 3 weeks. i have had shorter times with other straines but still takes a long time. im not sure of the water temp but i do know it is over 70 and under 80. im about to put in another batch and am just looking for sudgestions. i use ro water at a ph of 5.8 to 6 and use earthjuce gell wand put clonex clone solution in the water at 10 ml per gal. witch is half of what the bottal says. my mothers are quite old and are getting pretty woody stems so im flowering them out and makeing new ones. thank you for any help.
Try strait water no ph adjustment and forget about all the additive crap. Now of coarse this will depend on your water quality but usually they will root in straight water. I have hard well water here and they root fine out of the tap. You might try this one round and see if your results are better or worse. t6
my ppm's out the tap are about 500 and ph is 8.0 or above acording to my test drops. I've looked at your stuff quite a bit teamster and you seem to do very well so if you say its good i'll try it
YOur just about around the same line as my water here. I think they like minerals in the water just a theory. Try it most strains I have roots in 8 to 9 days useing straight tap water. ph ing the water just makes it go stagnant. Make sure your water level is up to the manifold on the sprayers. Most important part is taking the cuts!!! Always make sure you have a node just above the cut line. Use a razor blade 45 degree cut and keep everything clean! Try for lower growth however I have done a lot of tops and dont have trouble on them either but the new stuff usually takes root quick. forgot to add if you have net pots cut the bottoms out of the pots so they are not screened. See some of my clone picks in my gallery!! good luck t6
thank you very much teamster. i've looked at lots of your pics and they look great but my load time is soooo slow i didnt get through them all and my only question is when you say to have a node just above the cut do you mean to cut the leaf and nubby branch that is there off to expose some bare tissue or just leave the node alone and have it down in the incert also?
Let me just get this straight, I take it 1/4 an inch below a node and I strip both the fan leaf and the actual shoot that comes out of it correct?
Hey bro. I built one of these cool DIY aerocloners. My first run took me like 20 days before I started seeing root development. However, once tha plants rooted, they actually began to gro...like aeroponic growing. It was like they went from rooting clones to seedlings all while in the cloner. But I made some mistakes by having my water too warm and I had 2 2' T5 flouoros about 1/4" above the cuttings. Too much too much. So I took the lil aquarium heater out and got the lighting squared away and 2 days later there were nice roots that were not even visible before those 2 simple modifications. Every time I harvest big sticky bud I feel like I owe at least half of it to the people here who helped me get there in the first place.
ok here is a black rose cutting. first pick is what it looks like off the plant. Allow a cutting that will give you some room to put in a net pot so the bottom sticks out oh probably at least 2 1/2 inches below the tops. 2nd pick leave nodes trimmed off and 45 angle cut below the node. got it?? Cheers t6
Dutch master ape is a great foliar spray for clones. Keeps so healthy they actually grow while waiting for the roots to take off.
thanks for the input guys, I got a bunch of them in now and ya teamster I just now looked at your pic but thats how i did it. just thought ide share this pic with you guys, its the first of my dirt to be close to done since i failed at the aero. it was a very old and neglected mother that i quit useing a few months ago and it got hit by the mites prety bad but she still producd. sorry, cant copy and past on this damn thing. www.growkind.com/gallery/showfull.php?photo=40707 thanks again for the input.
