For those of you, that've considered going over to the "Great White North," A bit of news just on the Radio.

The final crossing waivers period is coming to and end, in a matter of hours. You will need 100% of the time, past this point, to have a valid passport to re-enter your own country. Don't blame me, for the new Berlin wall, I don't like it.

If I were to make the cross, I'd want to do it in a car, with every little light and blinker in perfect order. A spotless (mostly.) DMV/crimminal check, and not waive my freal flag high. I drove my Son, as the above, two summers ago, to," Niagra Falls." I made other stops. When I was coming back across, the US border Agents were a treat. All of my documents were in order, including my Sons Birth Cert. And a Government employee ID. "Why would you drive so far, to show your kid the falls?"

" uh, 'cause he wanted to see it? 'k?" Master don't live in Texas.

Canada, has a history of making revenue, in times of prohibition in the US. From Liquor, 'roids to HVAC gases. They've made money. Going to them, just got a little tougher. Life is full of challenges.

If Moderation wishes to move this thread, I just threw it out there per a conversation in here once.

Whenever I go to Seattle I'm gonna rent a car and drive to Vancouver. They sell all kinds of seeds there (cannabis, peyote, etc.). You can even toke in some coffee shops, but you have to bring your own.

I looked at them pretty little cacti in a shop in Toronto, on another trip up.

I looked at em' REAL HARD AND LONG!!!!!!

The only place I thought safe to hide 'em, I couldn't fit them in :icon_confused:

He is the founder of "Prepare to Die!", the principal school for arch-enemies located three miles outside Pinewood. Here, prospective supervillains learn how to master clipped British vowels and camply salivate over phrases like "Are you threatening me, master Jedi?".

you can still enter (and return) by land with a simply drivers license and birth cert. The passport is ONLY REQUIRED for air and sea travelers.

ATM there is nothing planned or in the works to require passports for land travel between US and Canada (by US and Canadian citizens)

    Peace

Well, I hope YOUR right, buddy!!! when I heard the policy stated in "NEWS SPEAK," I got the jist that was where they were going. I also heard like the above, that all waivers of compliance were going away the day I posted. But,

Being as the last mailed package only had TWO uncracked, and that many are NOT getting theirs show, I will go to the agencies web site, and double check. I see ONE more sweaty drive back with a lump in my sock in my future, if this is indeed the case.

I hope your correct. Windsor would be closer........

Travelers Reminded of New Document Requirements Beginning January 31, 2008

Documents Proving Citizenship, Identity Will be Required when Entering U.S. Through Land and Sea Ports.

Washington – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS) remind the traveling public that as of Jan. 31, 2008, all adult travelers will be required to present proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, and proof of identity, such as a driver’s license, when entering the United States through land and sea ports of entry. DHS will be issuing a notice in the Federal Register formally announcing the change.

This change is a necessary step to prepare travelers and ease the transition to the future requirements of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI). WHTI proposes to establish documentation requirements for travelers entering the United States who were previously exempt, including citizens of the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda. As recommended by the 9/11 Commission, Congress enacted WHTI in the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004. WHTI will result in both enhanced security and increased facilitation across the border once implemented. During this transition, DHS and the Department of State are working diligently to minimize the impact on legitimate trade and travel.

Currently, U.S. Customs and Border *******ion (CBP) officers may accept oral declarations of citizenship from U.S. and Canadian citizens seeking entry into the United States through a land or sea border. However, as of January 31, 2008:

    • Oral declarations of citizenship alone will no longer be accepted
    • U.S. and Canadian citizens ages 19 and older will need to present a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate
    • Children ages 18 and under will only be required to present proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate
    • Passports and trusted traveler program cards - NEXUS, SENTRI and FAST - will continue to be accepted for cross-border travel
All existing nonimmigrant visa and passport requirements will remain in effect and will not be altered by this change.
