I've been looking around town for fine dolomite lime , without having to go to the grow store and all that I have found is hydrated horticultural lime??? Is this the same? http://www.amazon.com/Hoffman-15105-5LB-Hydrated-Lime/dp/B000VB6FLG/ref=sr_1_6/103-8938377-8919841?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1191726899&sr=8-6
hydrated lime Hydrated lime is alot more potent than dolomitic. It's usually used in areas with waste products.(We use it in the barns under the straw to absorb the ammonia from animal 'stuff'.) You can use it with plants, but I'm pretty sure you would want to use less. It's pretty strong. Hope it helped!:icon_colors:
Smarmy they have it at homedepot in the lawn care products you want the pulverize dolomite not the pellets comes in 10lb bag more then you'll every use but it's only a couple buck.
I've only been able to find the pelletized dolomite lime. Can I just crush it all up or has anyone used the pelletized stuff?? Thanks. Peace!
I've used the pellets, but I just placed a layer on top of the soil, instead of mixing it into the soil. Not sure if it worked, since I never measured or had any PH problems.
