Its sad to say I dont think the bible belt states will ever let up on MMJ. Many southern conservatives believe its the devils weed that makes you crazy and do evil things. Its their ignorance forcing people to take prescriptions drugs with side affects worse than the aliment being treated for in the first place.
It doesn't matter what some backasswards rednecks think if the feds finally see the light and reschedule it from a class 1 drug and allow for a national MMJ law. Or outright legalization which is what we all want in the end anyway right?
One problem in the south is that we can't get it on a fucking ballot. Republicans keep killing the bills in the local senates for some reason most of us don't understand, even though the states are majority for decriminalizing and MMJ. More so NC, we got to have something to replace tobacco here soon, and I doubt we are going back to cotton...so....
AND another funny part is that the back woods rednecks are the ones growing and smoking the shit in the first place! It isn't them that are the problem, it is the Baptist churches that are the problem, because they are perceived to have a strong voting base, when in reality they only have one for causes they "care" about and they aren't the majority. We need to start allowing American Farmers to grow Hemp. Talk about a large scale cash crop that could replace cotton and tobacco as well as the food side of it with the hemp seeds. So, Texas has proposed a sorry ass bill allowing for less penalties and leniency for medical patients, if arrested here, that one senator or whatever he is has put in the last like 5 years or something, I forget. It's been shutdown everytime, and doesn't allow any usage, just lesser fines and penalties. So ya, not happening soon here. But I'm in whenever it does! My pop is bi-polar manic depress. Never took a pill for it but smokes regularly. If it weren't for MJ, he'd probably have killed someone by now. Now he has seizures from scar tissue on brain mixed with severe alcoholism. He finally quit drinking a few years back, still has seizures, but without MMJ, he'd be dead. The MJ clears his head and allows him to focus when he gets manic, got to stop him with a spliff and he's good. He does take seizure meds, but that's the only pill we can get him to take. I hope Texas will pass a medical law sometime soon, but I doubt it with all the baptists here. Crooked mother fuckers.
to hear about your dad BJE. My dad had Parkinsons. A good cbd rich plant would have served him well. He wound up having brain surgery that did him in.
Man jr215 that really sucks. It got bad for my dad about 3 years ago. Got a call from my stepmom at work. He was about to leave for his job and had 4 grand maul seizures in a row, called ambulance but he seized the whole way to the hospital. Almost did Him in, he hasn't fully recovered but pot helps him to focus and complete tasks he can't remember how to do without it. He hasn't held a job down since cause he gets confused and does things backwards resulting in getting fired. Working on disability but that's a bitch to get on.
